merhaba kizlar !!!

first of all , did, im sos orry for ur leg. wish u to get well soon!

im so happy to see turkish girls here !!!

i myself heard one egytpian guy on tv singing sibelcanin "karagozlu cilgerem" but in arabic the name was different for sure, dont remember it all but the second word was something like "shulgharam" ya da ne ise. also i heard lot of my friends in egypt agree that arabian music is turkish (who would think that? lol) and i think if u are going to sing there ur going to be successfull cuz turkish music will sound for them exotic and familiar at same time.
egyptians like turkish music - all my turkish cds i had with me in egypt were gone to my egyptian friends.they were almost fighting for them (lol). 'most valueble" were sad love songs like "agla agla gozbebegim", "sari gelin" etc, also tarkan, ebru gundes ( unuturum was the most wanted ), sertap erener, and lots of others. as i am also a professional - they even made me sing in turkish for them. they liked it a lot. so i wish u good luck.

Ataturk
20 El-Riyad St
Mohandessin

They deliver and you can also check out their menu on otlob.com

You can try checking on yallabina.com to see if any special concerts etc are taking place at the opera house that may be turkish.

Hi,
I have some usewful information for U:

Topkapi Turkish Restaurant at Pyramisa Cairo, 60 El Giza St.

Attaturk: A dark horse contender. This Turkish restaurant, with branches just off Shehab Street in Mohandessin and off Al-Thawra Street in Heliopolis, serves consistently unique and interesting dishes with a real sense of style.

Certainly it is not like setting in a traditional Turkish restaurant overlooking the harbour of Fethiye, here you will be wined and dined with a mouthwatering selection of Turkish mezes (starters!) followed by Guvec (a traditional and delicious special Turkish stew), while you are entertained by a colorfull array of dances from all over Turkey with Turkish folklore dancers in traditional costumes.

The difference between turkey and egypt is big i mean first of all about religion..

Turkey is a muslim country but laic i mean that the arabic writing is forbit sinds years, that woman are free (exept old mentality like some villages fare away in Turkey, also we are very open mind, the woman doesnt close herself exept old woman i mean 60 years old ...
Also the califa is forbit for the mean and the dark black dresses as Iran or Afghanistan..
Also if we dont make ramadan is not a problem, we have to respect the religion, no pig..
In turkey you can wear the clothes that you want...short clothes i permetted...
We are veryyyyyyy open mind...
One part in turkey is European (istanbul) and the other is Asiatic...
then turkey is a modern muslim county...
The good exemple is for instante the kind of Jordania and his wife...
Most of people look like this..

I went in egypt many times and each time it was very difficult for me to go on the street with a dress...
Also all people ask me if im praying 5 times a day and if im a good muslim..
Policeman ask me my identidy card on the street...alot things like this..
Really i love egypt but im feel bad there coz alot of places was not open mind at all namely in the center of cairo (((((
If you speak about egyptian hospitality i will say that you are great !!!!!!!!
the best of the world...
otherwise we turkish and egyptian are similair...
attractive man )) and also beautiful belly dancer..
about the past Egypt and Turkey are rich of history...
If you need more information
contact me
i will be please to tell you more and more...
HAVE A GOOD RAMADAN TOO....

Ohh yes i forget to tell you this and is very important:
In turkey you have a small part of people who are close as Iran...
This group tried many times to take the power inside the turkish gouvernement..
But this is not really possible coz if something like this happen, the turkish military will take immediatly power then, for turkish people we will stay laic muslim but laic..

That ittt

Hi Didi,
YES, the November Concerts for children had become a tradition of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra.

Every year we revive new program with new works.

On Sunday 14 November 1999 11.00 am
S. Prokofiev: "A Summer Day"
L. Mozart: Toy Symphony
G. Bizet: "L’Arlesienne"
Conductor was: Amin Guven Yaslicam

Emin Guven Yaslicam started his musical career studying orchestral conducting and composition.
Later on he specialized in conducting. In 1983 he was chosen as the most successful conductor of the year.
He is the founder of several musical institutions and jury member in various competitions. He used to perform in many international music festival.

One of his main intentions is to introduce young musicians to the scene and to bring the works of Turkish composers to a broader international audience.

Last month, on 7 September, at main Hall Cairo Opera House, Main Hall finally opened its doors to the first concert of the new season, only this time the season opened not with Cairo Symphony but with the Opera Orchestra, under Nader Abbassi, in a gala concert organised in cooperation with the Turkish Embassy.

Turkish pianist Gulsin Onay's was playing there.

I think Ibrahim tatlises is one of the best singers in the world.

"Akdeniz" is one of my favorites. It is about where and how he falls in love. I like the music. It's quite slowish.

"Bi tanem" also is so nice, although I don't know the meanings to the lyrics and I dont understand turkish, but it's my favorite country and he is my favorite Turkish singer.

Hello
Is difficult to explain the difference, in fact you have to go first of all in Turkey to see turkish people and after when you travel around the world you can understand better the BIG difference. in fact is not really a difference is only the education, the area where different turkish lives, the languages i mean dialect..
For istance, im living in brussels and here there is many turkish people but nobody look like me i mean when european see me think that im european too and not turkish
Turkish people how come in europe gave a very bad image about turkish people from turkey...impolite, doest study...and ohh my god the languages !!!!!! so bad !!!!!!
Is like germany too...
Many poor turkish people had difficulties in turkey and decided years ago to move and keep old mentality but european think that all are like this and when european or other decide to move in turkey all say wouwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww we never meet beautiful people like this !!!!
then, i hope that you understand what i say..
Go in turkey or simply check on TV and you will understand the big difference.

Mainly there s no big difference between Turkey turks and Azerbaijani turks but it would not correct if we consider them the same. as we all know the culture of a nation consist of its historical , social, political, economical improvement since the begining. So even though we speak the same language ( also different dialectic) we have a different culture. as soon as the Turkey Turks located in anotolia (asia the minor )they ve always been keep in touch with different cultures and affects eachothers cultures ( such as greeks, russians, arabs, hungarians, serbs, bulgarians, albanians, romanians, austrians, italians ...etc)so that connection enhanced the turkey turks culture. maybe it changed many but definetly as a anotolian turk i am very happy with it . but unfortunately azerbaijanies did not have that chance so much cause of its location.I urge all egyptians to visit Turkey , and as i see they do actually, one of my egyptian friends visited me this summer, and i took her to big Zara store in Baghdat street in Istanbul and guess what happened. She saw her exclassmate from the cairo in the store .and last week i saw 3 egyptian couple on a boat as they kisseachother in public

Dear treston &Didi,

i would like to tell you that I traveled to turkey more than five times and I quiet understand the mentality of Turks , I have lots of friends there and some shop owners of “ Isteklal” street know me by name J , but recently I discovered this Ex soviet country which is called Azerbaijan and I was so surprised that people from this country are more or less like you and furthermore they are very loyal to the people of turkey they consider the two countries as brothers who were separated by politicians ….
I also discovered that many Turks from Istanbul are living in Baku (Azer. Capital) and vice versa , no visa is required in this respect !!
You would understand what I’m saying if you would se them cheering for the Turkish soccer team during the last world cup
Do you consider them the same or it is just loyalty from one side ?

Dear Fantachero:
Nasilsiniz?
As I used to visit Turkey, one of the best ways to reward the inevitable hospitality of your hosts is to speak a few words of Turkish to them.

So, as U see, I know a little, but will consider your offer as a teacher not a translator.
THANKS

Dear Adoula,

Tesekkur ederim. Sen nasilsin?
Yes I agree with you. Knowing even a few local words in visiting a country makes a big difference. While I was in cairo this year and just after people learn that I am turkish, they start saying some turkish words as "merhaba, arkadas, hasan sas (means hello, friend and a name of a football player)" which makes me laugh so much...

If you really like to learn some about turkish, I love to help you in that. Who knows maybe I could learn some words in arabic(which I always believe it's so difficult)

Take care,

hello everybody! since you guys are talking about azeri people here may i add few words "from the azeri side" ?

well yes, there are a lot of differences but still we are close with turkish turks. most differences in culture are cuz of the soviet period in our history and a lot of relatedness with russia. we have the same education sistem with russia, lots of azeri people were studying there, there are tons of mixed marriages( my own mom is russian), most people speak russian etc. but! cultural traditions are muslim and very very close to turkish turks culture ( we are muslim but not so strict like egyptians though - we also are allowed to wear what we like just like turkish girls, but for sure pig meat and extramartial sex things are forbidden).we have alot in common about usual everyday things: the food is the same, the humour is the same, the intonations are the same, the way people look like are very close. the azerbaijani language has differences from turkish - for a simple example azeri people say "sevirEm" and turkish people say "seviYORUM" or we say "salam" and turkish turks say "selam"- its the different pronounsation, also in spoken language we use a lot russian words. azeri people love turkish people and yes, consider them brothers and sisters.we love turkish music and as i know turkish people love azeri music

as i am living in russia almost all life (was born here but lived in baku since 1995 till 1998 and visit my family there quit often) i am always happy to see or talk to turkish people no matter are they azeri turks or turkish turks i miss "milli" stuff so muuuuuuuuch! i have more then 800 turkish songs in my pc and its never enough and i still feel "the hunger".

there`s a funny thing connected to my ethnicity that happened to me in egypt: while i was there everybody were talking arabic to me - they thought i was egyptian, lol, and the best thing that i found out about egyptian people is that there is something in them that reminds me turkish people so much (sometimes i was understanding what people were talking about only from their intonations and mimicry even i dont speak arabic), everybody was very friendly and nice and when they heared that i am not egyptian but an azeri turk they began to be even more nice and friendly with me ( even since they always treat everybody just great, they treated us even better then other tourists from russia that were in same time in same place - all the stuff and managers were all around me and my little sister to make sure is everything ok and that nobody disturbs or bothers us: they treated us like their own family i swear )

so i mean i love egypt ))

everybody have a nice day

azeri kizi

Good day , Nazrin

Thanks a lot for all these useful information, and as for the Egyptian /Azeri god relation , I’d like you to know that very soon (Inshaa allah) it will be more close and deep , as one Egyptian pharaoh is on his way to marry an Azeri beauty from the land of winds and fire
Will you congratulate them ???? (smile )

Hey my name is Fidan and I am half Azeri and half Pakistani. I think there is no huuuge difference between Azeris and Turks. I think the forceful conversion from Sunni to Shiite is the biggest. Also Turks cleaned their language out of Farsi and Arabic words...and we are on the same track (inshallah) I love Turks from Turkey and consider them as my own people. If anyone of you would like to correspond please email me at swatmaster@yahoo.com esp if youre azeri, i live in california and sometimes i really miss my "own" people. but i would love to talk to anyone of you so please dont hesitate. sagol fidan
