RAY, John, Osiris in Mediaeval Egypt, in: The Unbroken Reed. Studies Shore, 273-280.

An example of Osiris's literary afterlife is shown in the mediaeval Arabic folkloric tale of Al-Zīr which contains material from the cycle of Osiris. The epic is preserved partly in a version published in Beirut, and partly in an edition printed in Cairo in A.D. 1298. Although it seems difficult to link Osiris with a mediaeval Arabic text, there fortunately exists a Coptic intermediary (P. Coloniensis Copticus 1, inv. 3287). M.W.K.
