Originally posted by Israel: [qb] Loveforever, it is funny that Sultan tries to talk about the Bible, and trys to trample on Christian belief in the trinity, founded upon Scripture(Old and New Testament), yet the Quran is hardly a historical book! The Bible has evidence, proof. It was recorded in the historical past that archealogists dig up and search for, finding evidence, such as the Dead Sea Scrolls, and profane history such as the rise of Tarhakah, pharoah of Kush, recorded in the books of Kings, Chronicles(I think), Isaiah, etc. Hence, it confirms the histories of Assyria and Kush(Egypt) when those two empires warred against one another............ What I am saying is that the Bible is a recorder of historical events. The Quran doesn't come close..........Everyone from the Christians, Jews, PErsians, Sabians, etc., claim that Muhammad simply took from their legends, beliefs, scriptures, etc., and weaved them into a writing we now call the Koran. The Koran is embarrasingly unhistorical. I challenge Batman and Sultan to truly study the Koran to find historical authencity..........you will hardly find it except perhaps in the life of Muhammad. The Bible has been proven to be a historical book. The Koran is NOT the same at all...........Salaam [/qb]
Hi Israel, How about the fact that the Bible and the Quran are more than merely books to be compared as to which is the most historical? Both books are believed to contain guidance from Allah therefore it would make sense that they contain replicas and similarities in the content. A Muslim believes that Allah sent many prophets to deliver his message: 043.006 YUSUFALI: But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? It stands to reason that if the Prophets of the 3 major religions came from the One God, then the messages would be the same. In the same Surah we have the ayat: 043.003 YUSUFALI: We have made it a Qur'an in Arabic, that ye may be able to understand (and learn wisdom). The Quran was originally delivered to the Arab people in the language that they understood, same as the Torah and Injeel were originally sent in the language of the people it was delivered to. Same message, different people and different languages. I haven't read the posts of Sultan or Batman, however I don't agree with the effort to prove whose book is the right one. You can find tons of information on the net to disprove the authenticity of both books, but it's down to each of us what we want to believe. “It's all a matter of interpretation, my dear Watson,” :D [/QB]
