and Iran. Our great leader and brave soldiers will soon be on the move again to clear tyranny from the middle east. God will be martching with them as they liberate millions from dispair

Newsweek
Oct. 4 issue - Deep in the Pentagon, admirals and generals are updating plans for possible U.S. military action in Syria and Iran. The Defense Department unit responsible for military planning for the two troublesome countries is "busier than ever," an administration official says. Some Bush advisers characterize the work as merely an effort to revise routine plans the Pentagon maintains for all contingencies in light of the Iraq war. More skittish bureaucrats say the updates are accompanied by a revived campaign by administration conservatives and neocons for more hard-line U.S. policies toward the countries. (Syria is regarded as a major route for jihadis entering Iraq, and Iran appears to be actively pursuing nuclear weapons.) Even hard-liners acknowledge that given the U.S. military commitment in Iraq, a U.S. attack on either country would be an unlikely last resort; covert action of some kind is the favored route for Washington hard-liners who want regime change in Damascus and Tehran.

US 'aiming at Syria regime change'
Israel predicted yesterday that America would impose fresh sanctions on Syria in an attempt to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad.

"Just as soon as we FAX them their orders!"

I'm sure thats true Noor. It does no good to spray for roaches and then leave an entire nest in the next room. Liberating Syria can not be long in coming, you may be seeing the first stages of it with 'operation Iron Fist.'

All Set for War With Syria

by Stephen Zunes
The broader implications of the Feb. 14 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was seen by many as the embodiment of the Lebanese people's efforts to rebuild their country in the aftermath of its 15-year civil war, are yet to unfold. A Sunni Muslim, Hariri reached out to all of Lebanon's ethnic and religious communities in an effort to unite the country after decades of violence waged by heavily armed militias and foreign invaders.

The assassination took place against the backdrop of a growing political crisis in Lebanon. This began in September 2004, when Syria successfully pressured the Lebanese parliament, in an act of dubious constitutionality, to extend the term of the unpopular pro-Syrian President Emile Lahoud, a move roundly condemned by the international community. War fever is building both in the administration and the Congressional leadership of both parties.

Iran 'behind attacks on British'
British officials say Iran is directly linked to the killing of all eight British troops who have died in Iraq this year. http://news.bbc.co.uk/

A senior British official, briefing correspondents in London, blamed Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

He said they provided the technology to a Shia group in southern Iraq. The Iranians had denied this, he added.

Cheney warns of 'decades of war'

US Vice-President Dick Cheney has said that the US must be prepared to fight the war on terror for decades.

As long as it’s profitable, eh, Dick? And where are your kids and grandkids? Have they not signed up for your “noble cause”?

who wishes us ill Noor...the French? Nobody cares what the French think. Their only objection is that they didn't get to keep their deal with saddam. The radicals in Europe bitch but nobody cares what they think. The third world? They have complained for decades because we won't pour even more money down a bottomless rat hole. From a diplomatic standpoint we have the full support of every nation that counts, who cares about the ones that don't.

Ummm, don't you remember it was a so-called *third world* radical terrorist group who bombed us on 9/11?

I think you better care a little more....every single person on this planet *counts.*

well, thats not the point she was making Susan, you changed the subject. President bush has a list in his desk drawer of terrorist leaders around the world. Every morning when he gets his CIA briefing he pulls out that list and scratches off the names of the people who are no longer with us. you still don't get it.
