First, I have no idea why that African took part in that ad. Second, the ad is not racist in my opinion.
Looks more like a reactive insecurity on the part of Chinese males. They are upset when they see Chinese females consorting with African males. That would seem to imply--in their minds--that African males are preferable to Chines males. The ad is a peeved reaction it would seem to the fact that when a Chinese woman goes out with an African male, it implies that African males are preferable.
Similar reactions are found in Africa too. In 2008, there were riots against non-South African blacks for running businesses in South Africa. Some of the Africans were killed in the riots. One complaint by the rioters was that the other Africans were "stealing their women". I Africa, Muslim parents often strongly oppose their daughters marrying Christians. In Kenya, Luos and Kikuyos hardly ever intermarry. Same with other groups. Things are changing buy very slowly. Is there "racism" here?
I would say that the ad--like its Italian copy is racially insensitive but not racist. The ad does not say that "Africans are BIOLOGICALLY inferior to Chinese".

First, I have no idea why that African took part in that ad. Second, the ad is not racist in my opinion.
Looks more like a reactive insecurity on the part of Chinese males. They are upset when they see Chinese females consorting with African males. That would seem to imply--in their minds--that African males are preferable to Chines males. The ad is a peeved reaction it would seem to the fact that when a Chinese woman goes out with an African male, it implies that African males are preferable.
Similar reactions are found in Africa too. In 2008, there were riots against non-South African blacks for running businesses in South Africa. Some of the Africans were killed in the riots. One complaint by the rioters was that the other Africans were "stealing their women". I Africa, Muslim parents often strongly oppose their daughters marrying Christians. In Kenya, Luos and Kikuyos hardly ever intermarry. Same with other groups. Things are changing buy very slowly. Is there "racism" here?
I would say that the ad--like its Italian copy is racially insensitive but not racist. The ad does not say that "Africans are BIOLOGICALLY inferior to Chinese".
