Mexicans eat cactus. They call it nopal.

They sell cactus leaves in my neighborhood. I went to buy some and I got stuck by little needles. But, I want to see how it tastes like.

I have cooked it before and it's not bad if done right. You have to handle it carefully and then scrape off the needles with a knife very thoroughly, both sides and the edge, use rubber gloves or hold it down with a fork. Cut into thick strips You have to boil them 15 to 20 minutes to get rid of the gooey stuff. Drain and rinse a few times. Then saute for 5 minutes in oil salt and garlic, a small amount of hot sauce and pepper

No hot sauce or pepper for me. But, thanks for instructions.
