This finding reminds me of the FOX NEWS report posted here a while ago, entitled "Whites Genetically Weaker Than Blacks" ....

In any event, I'd heard about this in class and decided to look it up:

Study finds Kenyan women immune to HIV

By Lyanne Melendez

Researchers may have discovered why some sex workers in Kenya exposed to the HIV virus never get infected or develop AIDS. It appears these women have something in common that makes them immune to HIV. This discovery may someday help other women avoid getting the virus.

Researchers found some of the sex workers in Kenya produced the same 15 proteins that seemed to give them immunity to HIV.

"This group looked at the vaginal fluid of the women and said 'Well, they have something in the vaginal fluid that perhaps protects them against the virus,'" said Dr. Jay Levy, an AIDS researcher at UCSF.

For years, Dr. Levy's team has looked at women here in the U.S. with a specific white cell, which also protects them from the most common HIV virus.

Canadian and Kenyan scientists have followed 3,000 sex workers in Kenya for at least three years. For this study, they only focused on 39 women and found 10 were resistant to HIV.

The study was published in the Journal of Proteome Research.

Because it was such a small study, researchers would like to see more sex workers participate in a larger study to give more validity to these findings.

"We have 15 to 20 new HIV infections in San Francisco every week, and over 7,000 infections globally every day and so we desperately need to identify new safe and effective prevention strategies," said Jonathan Fuchs M.D. with the San Francisco Department of Health.

Dr. Levy says the African study could help develop new methods to protect women.

"This would be a similar approach to what we call a microbicide -- something that kills germs," said Dr. Levy.

A microbicide is a gel or cream used by women to protect against sexually transmitted diseases. The study could also lead to other research that would replicate the high levels of these proteins in others.

^^ If Chimu is still around, this should answer their question on how beneficial mutations have a better chance to occur and be promoted amoungst Africans in the old thread you linked.

^Indeed, hence my reason for posting that link.

I was also informed of a (not sure of its recency) anti-HIV drug trial or experimental anti-HIV preventative drug that seemed to work well in AAs and Latinos but not with whites and was thus swept under the rug as "ineffective". Haven't been able to confirm this yet but if true, it certainly speaks to the justification of the distrust of African-Americans towards the food and drug administration, etc..

The AIDS thing has been around now for almost 25-30 years and yet the voyeuristic and perverse West still continues to be obsessed with AIDS in Africa. Given their hysterical screaming about AIDS in in Africa dated from 20 years ago one would have expected the whole of Africa to be almost depopulated by now. And that was what the their phony and hypocritical "experts" predicted. But the charade still continues with billions of good money invested in this medical Ponzi scheme--meaning that new "patients" have to be continuously recruited to keep the cash, experimental medicines and condoms flowing into Africa. And there must always be money for the stupid AIDS conferences they continue to hold non-stop.

Of course, corrupt negroes--those who are recruited to "fight AIDS" in Africa always on the lookout for free conferences and plush per-diems which they use for shopping in Western capitals play along with this stupid game.

SEE: HIVSKEPTIC.wordpress.com for a critical look at the AIDS phenomenon.

^Politics aside, I think that these findings are rather significant.. The variation in African has to be immense for such immunities based on a perfect combination of proteins to develop so quickly. Unless of course they were already there and just so happened to serve that function.

This probable not the first time Africans were faced with something like this.. . .and develped immunity and survive. That's why it is the SOURCE (matrix) [Big Grin] [Big Grin] . Malaria and sickle cell is another example.

^^ I don't think there was ever an immunity developed for malaria. It was simply African people using their minds not to settle near rivers or still water since this is where most most mosquitos and flies habitate. They chose to build on higher ground further away from water, and made nets and "repellent" to further lessen contracting the virus.

Do your research. My understanding is people with the sickle cell trait SURVIVED in the presence of malaria parasite. And the way natural selection works. . . a mutation can be good or bad.. . .depending on the environment, In this case it was beneficial to the species those with the trait survived ie developed an immunity. JESSSSUUUUS!!

I wish some of you will THINK. Instead of regurgitating memorized studies. What about some APPLICATION. . . brothas.

^^ Exactly what does sickle cell have to do with malaria?

And provide some documentation that people exists with an immunity to malaria, as there are millions dying from it TODAY!

As I said, the reason why malaria was not a problem before was that people in Africa adapted to the environment and made settlements away from the parasite that spreads malaria. Then comes the white man and forces these people back to the areas they previously avoided. There has also been a population explosion that also have made people have to settle back in these areas, except now they don't have to resources to deal with it due to some recent history.

Is that enough thinking for you? Can you now think?

Sickle cell has to do with the shape of your red blood cells which makes a lot of Africans "resistant" (not immune) to malaria as it is harder for the malaria virus to latch onto these cells and many Africans and others who have the sickle cell mutation thus develop this resistance, but it also puts you at risk obviously.

^^ Even still, sickle cell is not a response to malaria, as the women in Kenya who have developed an immunity ti HIV. It is merely happenstance that people with sickle cell are "resistant (not immune)" to malaria, with sickle cell itself still being an undesirable trait to which there has not been a postitive genetic response, which in turn does not agree with the subject of this thread...hence my confusion.

I'm no artist though.

what proof do you have that thes women "developed" the resistance? thru vriation they probably had theses "enzymes" already.
