If Bolt were doping then so would be all his rivals from the U.S. and Europe where there would be easier access to the doping substances.

If Bolt were doping he would be more bulky and more discreet in his behaviour. Not as outgoing and carefree.

The simple truth is that Bolt's height(6" 5') and his long legs makes it possible for him to run the track in less steps but with his legs turning over just as quickly as the others in the race. Simple mechanics.

Carl Lewis is just feeling threatened that his records could be surpassed so he has to sully Bolt's records.

Just sour grapes.

Not to discount the possibility by why do I sense the reason for this is because he as a black man won? I'm sure if such an advancement in speed took place in a white or Asian man who won, you CrushedBallsCried would not even raise the issue.

Thank God Jesse Owen has dispelled the myth of Ayran genetic superiority.

Lewis is a emotional fag. No one seriously believes his emotional outburst, but albinos will latch onto it and use it to their advantage.
A huge media blitz could have devastating results, giving competitors just enough edge to win.

^even more ''hmmm..''

Quite remarkable that Bolt outperforms his doping using teammates, who are already among the best of the world, without using doping himself, supposedly. Its also quite remarkable that Bolt responded to Lewis the way he did. Instead of acknowledging that he understands Lewis' concerns (considering the fact that several of his teammates have been caught, as well as the unusual improvement in his performance), he responds with surprise and indignation, as if there is absolutely NO reason to suspect there might be more at play.

All I've ever seen over the years is performance enhancing drugs are an indication the user has the upper hand. If this is true then it should be really easy to produce studies that can actually show how it's done. In the case of speedsters like Bolt there should be no problem in showing how muscles can be fast twitched to give the sprinter that extra boost somewhere along the 100 metre dash. As of yet I have seen *no* evidence in the newspapers or the national news that say this drug or that drug, or a combination thereof, can be used to pick up an extra 3 or 4 inches in distance. All I can see is the newspapers parrot the usual he/she uses drugs and it gives them a boost. A boost in WHAT, a fraction of a second off the block; does it make one move their arms faster and somehow that translates into an aerodynamically improved version in the dash. WTF do the drugs do!

Other than the usual line of substances are illegal in the Olympics show evedryone some actual proof. This word of mouth stuff don't mean jack s..t.

This Berstein guy says something like you can believe they don't dope but it makes you out to be suckers. Now ain't this some stuff. So a couple of the Jamaican runners a couple of years ago used dope. Well damn couldn't those two guys have threatened the chemist and make them one up on Bolt in the Olympics? Oh I get it. The chemist can only use the same amount for the turtle speedsters and Bolt. So Bolt, by default, gets to keep his speed all to himself--just like he had in the first damn place? So there seems to be no way the silver and bronze can catch the gold, with or without dope? Maybe the Olympians of all stripes ought to fire their chemist for gross negligence and incompetence.

Carl Lewis wails:

“When people ask me about Bolt, I say he could be the greatest athlete of all time,” Carl Lewis told the Times of London. “But for someone to run 10.03 one year and 9.69 the next, if you don’t question that in a sport that has the reputation it has right now, you’re a fool. Period.”

Carl would have everyone believe .34 one hundreths of a second translates into two or three seconds. C'mown Carl this ain't rocket science brother.

I don't think Bolt is doping. When I watch Bolt run against his fastest competitors it appears that he is slower. Bolt wins because of his height and leg length which is his advantage. I think if Blake, Gatlin, and Gay were as tall as him they would beat him. I don't think Bolt is that fast. He is just as fast as his best competitors.

It's not the food. It's the tactics and technique. If it's the food then Jamaicans should have always dominated the 100/200. These guys are running faster times than the dopers in the past so there's no excuse to why Jamaicans didn't dominate in the past. They still would have won over those who doped. I think Jeter would have edge Shelly-Ann if Jeter would have leaned forward. Jamaicans have better tactics and technique when it comes to sprinting short meters. Americans just has speed and nothing else. Americans don't even use strategy they just run fast.

Athletics: Unassuming Mills, Jamaican sprint coach messiah

(Reuters) - He can be unassuming and sometimes grumpy, but Glen Mills's Jamaican athletes call him the messiah of sprint coaching and the world is finding out why.

Charges of the 62-year-old coach, including world 100 and 200 meters record holder Usain Bolt and world champion Yohan Blake, have won five of the six medals in the men's sprints at the London Olympics.

"There's times when you want to doubt yourself, but coach is always there to say listen ‘Don't worry I know what I can do to make you run faster and what you need to do to do faster so don't worry'," said Bolt after becoming the first man to retain both the Olympic 100 and 200 meters titles.

"So he's really done a great number on all out us as athletes and he's really pushed us to our limit."

A coach since he was a teenager, Mills witnessed Bolt and Blake claim gold and silver in the 100 meters, then watched on Thursday as his Racers Track Club members incredibly swept the 200 meters with young Warren Weir joining his more famous team mates on the podium.

"What makes it special is that we are all from the same camp, so you know coach Mills is the God of track and field," Blake said.

Bolt credited Mills for bringing him back into winning shape just five weeks after losing twice to Blake at Jamaica's Olympic trials.

"From the start to the finish Glen Mills has been there, he's really worked hard," said Bolt who began working with Mills after the 2004 Athens Olympics.

"There've been times when I doubted myself because of injury and he said ‘Don't worry I know what it takes and know what I can do to make you get back on track."

Mills has been coaching for 47 years, 22 as Jamaica's head coach until 2009 during which the Caribbean island amassed 71 world and 33 Olympic athletics medals.

"I have made track and field a major part of my existence and I work at it for long hours," Mills told Reuters earlier this year in Kingston, Jamaica.

"Maybe I have a talent to coach in a manner that brings results," said Mills, who guided Kim Collins of St Kitts & Nevis to the world 100 meters title in Paris in 2003 long before the emergence of Bolt.

"My knowledge is not exclusive as I believe that other people have similar information. We all get it from the same research, the same scientific data, but maybe I can use it better than most."

COACHING TECHNIQUES

His coaching techniques have evolved massively since attaining his diploma in sprinting from the International Olympic Committee Centre in Mexico in the 1970s.

"You gain experience and as you do so, you gain knowledge because you run (training) programs, develop different people and that expands your experience," said Mills, who coached Jamaica's Raymond Stewart to sixth place in the 1984 Olympics 100 meters final.

His Jamaican team also won a silver in the 4x100 relay in Los Angeles 28 years ago.

"I'm constantly seeking knowledge, whether it's in books, on the Internet or even talking to other practitioners," said Mills who began coaching at Camperdown High school at age 15 years old and founded the Racers Track Club in the 1980s.

"I've learnt a lot from the doctors I associate with as it relates to the function of the human body and the different aspects and effects of training on the human body and so on."

While Bolt, Blake and Weir young enough to seek more global medals, Mills said he was unsure how much longer he would continue coaching.

"It can't be as long as what has gone already," he said. "What I do know is that anytime I don't have that zest, then it's time to pack up."

Usain Bolt on Carl Lewis: ‘I have no respect for him’

 -

LONDON (AP) — Usain Bolt took a momentary break from basking in his historic Olympic sprinting double to fiercely criticize Carl Lewis.

Soon after winning gold in the 200 meters at the London Olympics for 100 and 200 titles at back-to-back games, Bolt said Thursday he had “lost all respect” for Lewis after the American was quoted as saying Jamaica’s doping controls were not as strong as other countries.

While not making any direct accusations, former 100 and 200 Olympic champion Lewis has said in recent years that Jamaican drug testing procedures might need to be tightened.

The comments brought a stern reaction from Bolt at Olympic Stadium, right after he roared to an unprecedented second 200-meter title at the games. No other athlete has won the 200 twice at the Olympics, although Lewis won the event in 1984 and finished second in the 1988 Games.

With the smile that had been a constant fixture throughout his press conference vanishing from his face, Bolt lashed out at nine-time gold-medal winner Lewis after being asked if he’d like to be compared with him or late sprinting great Jesse Owens.

“I’m going to say something controversial right now. Carl Lewis, I have no respect for him,” Bolt said. “The things he says about the track athletes is really downgrading for another athlete to say something like that. I think he’s just looking for attention, really, because nobody really talks much about him.

“That was really sad for me when I heard the other day what he was saying. It was upsetting. I’ve lost all respect for him. All respect.”

Asked which specific comments from Lewis made him angry, Bolt replied: “It was all about drugs. Talking about drugs. For me, an athlete out of the sport to be saying that. That was really upsetting for me. Really upsetting.

“To jump up and say something like that. As far as I’m concerned he’s looking for attention. That’s all.”

Lewis, the former 100 and 200 Olympic champion, has raised questions in recent years about Jamaican drug testing procedures.

Following Bolt’s performance in Beijing, Lewis told Sports Illustrated: “Countries like Jamaica do not have a random program, so they can go months without being tested. I’m not saying anyone is on anything, but everyone needs to be on a level playing field.”

Bolt had already dealt with one question about doping when he was asked Thursday if he could guarantee that Jamaican sprinters — who swept the top three spots in the 200 — were clean.

“Without a doubt,” Bolt said, sitting in between silver medalist Yohan Blake and bronze winner Warren Weir. “We train really hard.”

Now in light of the topic of this thread, on to more interesting news-

Cox stripped of relay medal
American Crystal Cox, who won 4x400m relay gold at the Athens Olympics, has been stripped of her medal.

 -

The IOC also confirmed Nigeria were awarded the gold medal at the 4x400m men's relay race from the Sydney 2000 Olympics after it closed the case on doping offender Antonio Pettigrew of the US.

Cox, the Athens relay alternate, was banned for four years in 2010 for using performance-enhancing drugs. The US Anti-Doping Agency had said Cox had used prohibited anabolic agents between 2001 and 2004.

The IOC's Executive Board, however, did not make any decision on the other relay runners in the team, saying it was up to the International Association of Athletics Federations to decide if all the runners on the US team would be stripped of their medals.

Russia were second in that race and Jamaica won bronze. Britain finished fourth. Should the IAAF decide, as it has done in similar cases, to strip the medals from all team athletes, these countries will be moved up to gold, silver and bronze.

The other members of the US 4x400 team from 2004 were Monique Henderson, Monique Hennagan, Sanya Richards and Deedee Trotter.

Pettigrew, who committed suicide in 2010, had been disqualified in 2008 from the 4x400m race in Sydney where the United States won gold with a team that which included Michael Johnson and the 400m race where he finished seventh. Pettigrew had admitted to doping.

The IOC had delayed reallocating the medals, awaiting any new information from an ongoing investigation into an American doping scandal.

It said given that no new information was provided it proceeded with awarding Nigeria the gold medal. Jamaica were moved up to silver and the Bahamas awarded the bronze medal.

No, I was just saying that the pale ladies are heavy into Bolt and that could be a problem, but drugs and homosexuality--much too late to recruit him into those activities now. If he's on top of things he could make it again in Rio. At 30 years of age black athletes are just peaking--if they are doing the right things.
