Hmm, the story looks semi plausible in terms of
reporting on discovered ruins, until their dating
scheme is examined. They date the site using
discovery on alleged calendar stones, that allegedly
align with Orion. Since the "alignment" would
be where Orion was observed 160,000 yrs ago, that
is how they establish their dating for the most part.

But plausibility really breaks down when they
launch into the "ancient aliens from the planet
Niburu".. numba, which they dont get into until
the final page. Exactly why beings with the power
of inter-planetary travel and such advanced
technology would waste their time digging gold is
strange. Anyway, said alien gods needed "slave
workers." Righhhttt...... Strangely, once again,
it seems that the natives themselves did not
develop the gold works, it was "wandering Niburian aliens"
like the "wandering caucasoids" of biodiversity
lore, who are responsible... Now where have we
seen this song and dance before?

To hell with the alien theories that oft get repeated, they can talk about that on an episode of V or DragonBall Z.

This reminds me of other findings of human cities or whatever you'd call them in pre-Neolithic Africa: in i think Libya, and in Ethiopia, in fact, both of those i think around 100,000 years ago.

If 200-160kya is the scope for early examples we have of modern behavior and advanced thinking capabilities in modern humans and this also takes place in Southern Africa [at Blombos cave for instance] this 180,000 year ago date - from what i've gathered thus far - has nothing wrong with it.

Well after two years some one took notice

I keep coming back to this ever since I joined this community earlier this year..and hard as I try I can't find anything but the views of some folks who will eventually find a space alien angle.
not judging but I need a more drier look at this.

There is a find in Southern Africa, about an important archeological find called the Adam's Calender which is assumptively acclaimed to be 75,000 years old or more. Has anyone heard of this structure and if it is a authentic archeological discovery , what would be the actual carbon dating of the stone. Many people claim for it to be a hoax, but there is suggestive evidence to say it was a archeological structure that is similar to Stone Hedge. According to some archeologist, these peculiar structures, are said to be inspired by astronomy

South African Explorers Discover The Oldest Man-made Structure on Earth

An Extract From Adam's Calendar - The Book

The Johan Heine Stone Calendar (affectionately called Adam’s Calendar) has been dated by astronomer Bill Hollenbach to be around 75,000 years, based on the movement of the peoples in southern Africa and the emergence of rock art during that period. But it could in fact be even older – dating back to the dawn of Homo sapiens some 250,000 years ago.
 -

Adam’s Calendar firmly places the many ancient ruins of southern Africa at a point in history that we modern humans have never faced before – some 75,000 ago.
It therefore symbolises the FIRST FREE STANDING STRUCTURE
 -

These circular ruins are spread over thousands of square kilometres. They can only truly be appreciated from the air, and those lucky enough to view these ruins from the air will be able to see hundreds of ruins in a one-hour trip.

Many of them have almost completely eroded or have been covered by the movement of soil, while some have survived and still display the great sizes of the original walls that stand 2,5 metres high and over a metre wide in places. Prof Guy Charlesworth of Wits University concurs that if these were the original heights of some of the walls, it would have taken thousands of years to erode to knee-height through the effects of nature alone.

Back in 2002, a team working at Blombos Cave in South Africa reported finding two 77,000 year old pieces of ochre (one of which is pictured here) etched with what appears to be a deliberate cross-hatched pattern. The findings were published in Science, and I wrote about them at the time. A couple of years later, the same team, led by Christopher Henshilwood of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and the University of Bergen in Norway, reported equally old shell beads that may have been used as personal ornaments. Many, although not all, researchers interpreted these finds as evidence of early symbolic behavior and maybe even art. Indeed, the discoveries eventually convinced many scientists that symbolic behavior did not begin during the so-called "Upper Paleolithic creative explosion" in Europe 40,000 years ago but much earlier.

In this week's Science, I report on new finds of etched ochre, some dated 100,000 years old, from Blombos Cave. The work was presented at a meeting in Cape Town in January and is also in press at the Journal of Human Evolution. Here are a few extracts of my report:

To analyze the latest finds, Henshilwood teamed up with Francesco d'Errico of the University of Bordeaux in France and independent ochre expert Ian Watts, who is based in Athens. The trick with ancient ochre is to figure out what early humans were using it for. Many previous studies have concluded that ochre was often ground to make a powder, which could have been used to paint bodies--a form of social identification usually considered symbolic--or for more utilitarian purposes. For example, Lynnette Wadley of Witwatersrand has argued from modern-day experiments that ground ochre could have been used as a kind of glue to haft stone tools into wooden or bone handles.

The supposedly alien connection marred their works that's why I had asked if the Universities in South Africa or anywhere else had done any research on the site, the (Blombos Cave)site excluded off-course.. independent of Michael Tellinger.

Many people claim for it to be a hoax

How is it a hoax, as far as I can tell the structures exist, the question should be how old are they.

guess the Stonehenge cult has problems letting go of the title..LOL
