Africans/blacks lose again by default. When the Euro-America tackles the subject of Ancient Egypt for its own film-goers and makes the actors mainly European instead of African Africans/blacks complain. That's all.

^Black research and agitation has created a "Seed-Change" in ethnic movie production. Before, audiences accepted Albino Moses, Egyptians, etc, because they simply didn't know any better. Now I think, some Albinos are embarrassed by the lies and racism evident in the same movies that were acceptable 50 years ago.

Tyler Perry was once the most profitable directer in the US with a long run of work. Verily I say black people are sick of Madea and Spike Lee Chi-Raq satire. Straight out of Compton was a smash. It led the box for five weeks before it was replaced by another black movie The Perfect Guy.
Precious and slave flicks did well but that shot it's wad. So I must disagree. Black movies and movies with black leads have done great. I see no reason to believe that a realistic African history movie would not do well especially in Egypt which is obviously hurting for an accurate portrayal.

Africa is home to 1 billion people. Brazil also has at least 45 million blacks so just 1% of those populations would appreciate such films.
Hollywood is noted for its historic production of such popular films seen worldwide--as Samson and Delilah, Ten Commandments, Ben Hur, Exodus, etc., all Biblical themes.
So black film makers worldwide do have an open field to produce mature and sensible films all pertaining to the African/black past.
Again, if blacks don't make their own films about themselves then others will do it for the blacks. But quite often blacks don't like the results. All the better reason to do it for self. Makes sense, right?

Possibly the film producer who did "12 Years a Slave"? She wouldn't be hesitant about producing a film with both African and AA actors.
But the best for those kinds of films would be Haile Gerima who produced "Sankofa" some years ago.
