I'm sure i've spelt it wrong but anyway, I'd like to know the best way to make 'karkaday' please. I don't think i add enough sugar so would appreciate a tried and tested recipe.
Also, does karkaday have a sell by date? I bought a few packets last year (or maybe even year before) and am wondering whether i should just go and buy some from our local grocers just in case.
Any help? Thank you
wa salam

Ok Ok Farhana just for I made it to check my recipe. It works fine I now have very large jug of karkadeeh and one very pink sink which is why I usually avoid making it!
3 pints of water 1 large cup of Hibiscus petals 1 cup of sugar ( same size as used for Hibiscus)
Soak hibisus petals in the water (cold) for 2 hours in a large pan, then bring to boil. Simmer for 10 minutes. Add sugar and stir well. Strain with a very fine sieve. Serve ice cold.
If you have a white sink like me.....make sure you have bleach before you start!
