Here is my take on Metro. They do have a wide variety of imported food items, but, they are about 10% higher on all other items, in comparison to Carrefour or Fathallah.
For someone who is looking for a certain item (imported), it's worth a trip, other than that, it's just a higher priced grocery store.

A Metro is what Sharm has been crying out for, there is not one decent supermarket in Sharm. It will be tough on the existing small supermarkets but they needed shaking up as they not only rip off the tourists but the local residents as well, also hygene standards in many of them are not good. Even if they are a little more expensive if it means you can by butter and find its not cheese when you get home, then its worth the extra cost in what you save not having to put stuff straight in the rubbish bin.
