There's a Marsdens pork butchers in Sharm, I think there is one in Cairo also.

I know there is a German butcher in Maadi that sells pork but I don't know the address. I think you may find their details in one of the local magazines like Maadi Messenger.
Also heard of an Italian place in Mohandaseen which sells lot's of imported goodies, again don't have the address but hoping someone out there will know it.

JinJin, the place is Petro Market, off Wadi Nile and they do have lots of nice stuff, including lovely prosciutto. Last number I have for them is 023450073

I still have not get my hands on my pork yet, because no fresh pork these 2 days.
One thing was assure to me, the German Butcher he had his own farm and he rear his own pigs. So I guess that is clean. I will update on how my pork taste.
Had been dreaming of pork these few days.

All pigs are eating trash, except the ones who are fed in stables. Do you know what a chicken eats??? A chicken eats everything, there is no animal what has more disgusting eatinghabits as a chicken. But the whole world is eating chicken, even muslims... I don't know where that not eating pigs is coming from, but not because they're eating trash...

yuck mokattam trash town........unbelievable, it is a must to see because you can't believe it unless you see it. And the smell ! Out of this world. The church on the other hand is absolutely lovely!

Sizzling bacon doesn't stink when you cook it, it smells godly, lol. If I had to give up pork, I think ham would be the hardest. The lack of ham seriously reduces sandwich options

I dun think Pork stink. It is nice and if you know how to cook it is is very tender. It is also good for soup. and to make soup taste better we will place in some bacon. Pig have many uses.
Backed in my home country region, Asia. We eat pig, from its brain, its ear, its meat, its intestine, its heart, its kidney, its tongue and many more. Sometime the muslim is asia, they can't stand the temptation of the smell. They will eat in secret. After they taste the pork, they said it is better then any meat.

That means they are not 'real' Muslims. I may not be a very good Muslim but eating pork is something like eating human meat for me.. I mean it is that much far to me...

When I go with the groups to Europe, although I inform them, I know too many people eating the sausages served for the breakfast and say very delicious. A Muslim may not pray for 5 times, may not fast or may not go for pilgrimage, but eating pork is a big taboo for the religion. If you say 'I am a Muslim' but eat the pork, for me it is the biggest disrespect for Islam . (But for me of course).. It is very common over in asia. muslim don't wear hijab, over ther we call it tudung. The gals in school need to wear the school uniforms. sometime the muslim gals skirts, they make it more shorter themselves, so they look good in it.
And the muslim in our country, they always have unprotected sex and get pregnent before getting marry at a very young age. So it is very normal.

When I was working in the diner in my teens, my ex (before we started going out), he got mad at the other cook and threw a slab of raw bacon in his face...mind you they are bith egyptian and muslim.
then we got my ex to eat a pork chop for $20 once he then threw it up.
When he would hurt me or make me mad, I would go to my moms grab some pork fat off her sunday mrning bacon and use it to cook his dinner with or I would tell him something was veal and it wasnt....then I would look at him tearing it up and would say, 'good isnt it?'

I also know many muslims and not one of them would even go near pork, let alone eat it, some will not even wear shoes made with pig skin.
I am very surprised that there are Egyptian muslim men out there who are happy to go out with a woman who would be eating pork around them.

Doesn't the qu'ran say pretty much the same thing about pork as the bible? Not certain of the qu'ran's wording, but the bible:
"The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses. (Deuteronomy 14:8)
Weird how one religion decides to ignore it, but another sees it as a big deal. Gotta respect Muslims for not cherry picking. However, can't help but think they are rather silly reasons given by god not to eat something, does the qu'ran give a different reason?
