I'm quite desperate to find work in Egypt preferably in Luxor has anyone any ideas?
I travel to Egypt fairly regularly but so far haven't had the opportunity to actually look for work. My job at present is in adult education ( ESOL) I would consider other work provided it was legal!! Give me a clue somebody.
Cheers.

To those people out there who didn't replied, what Anne ment is adult education classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).

My recommendation is to look for these new international schools (search for its sites on the net), also can go for:http://www2.britishcouncil.org/egypt/egypt-english/egypt-english-language-course.htm?printout=1

Thanks Adoula,I have looked already on the British council site but alas I do not have the TESOL qualification required, have not had time to do it, also it is very expensive here.
However I am an English Grad, also a qualified teacher, with various other teaching qualifications including ESOL and Special needs, etc.I also teach Expressive Arts.
Its a real pain that I don't hold the one qualification everyone wants. Sod's Law as they say in my part of the world.
In saying all that, the desperation still stands. So again any further advice would be welcomed.
Regards Anne-marie

If you would change that desire to Cairo, you'd stand a much better chance of finding a school that could use you. Now whether you'd get a pay check at the end of the month or not is another question. There are loads of schools, but also loads of schools that never meet their promises. Be careful where you choose to work.

Many thanks for your advice Debbie, I note what you are saying. The problem is how do you seperate the good from the bad. Also where do I start. I would at a push go to Cairo, but I find it a touch overpopulated if you see what I mean. Also the pollution really gets to me.
I was planning to return to Egypt next month but my work situation has prevented that. However I will be there within the next three months, more than likely staying in Luxor. If anyone could suggest anywhere that I could visit and make some enquiries then I would be extremely grateful.
Just like to say that if I can offer any advice UK-side then just ask, if I can help I will.
Oh and just one more thing, anyone know of an Egyptian Arabic tutor in the Manchester area.
Thanks folks
Anne-marie

Hi thanks for your enquiry, but I am a touch outside your age requirments (how strict are they??)
Also my teaching experience is with adults rather than little ones.
However if you could give me a little more information perhaps I am intrigued.
Take good care,regards Anne-marie
