Cairo, Egypt (AHN) - Twelve people were killed and 36 more injured in three road accidents Friday in Egypt. Two accidents took place two hours and three miles apart from each other.
The first accident happened when a public bus fell over 26 feet off a bridge, killing two and injuring 36, some of which are in critical condition.
Two hours later and only three miles away, a car crashed with a truck causing the death of two and injured five.
In Baharia, west of Cairo, another crash killed eight people and injured nine.
The accidents were the latest in a series of fatal road accidents in Egypt due to the government's failure to ensure safe roads and make road improvements. The government has failed to act on laws already on the books to protect the life of travelers, especially on highways leading from suburbs to Cairo.
The first two accidents occurred on the highway leading into the capital.
