Hi all

If you were to choose between one of the following laptops, which would it be?

1) Toshiba Satellite L500-IEJ, Intel Pentium Dual Core T4300 processor, 1MB cache, 3GB ram, 250GB hdd, Windows 7

2) Compaq CQ61-360EV, Intel Core2Duo T6600 processor, 2MB cache, 3GB ram, 320GB hdd, Windows 7

I usually avoid answering these type of questions but I'm off to bed and I want to register a good deed. Compaq was independent, now it's part of HP. It's marketed as a cheaper alternative to HP. Toshiba has always been on par with HP.

Get what I'm sayin'? The specs in the Compaq are higher, but Toshiba is a better brand.

I would go with a better brand. You should do your own research for the specific models. Just do a search on Google and make your own mind up. Researching a laptop is fun, so have some, start with cnet.com and go from there.
