darn, I knew I left something off my list . . . next trip!!
I have several papyrus (papyrii???), a few statues of bastet (different colors/stones, sizes, etc, lol), galabeya, perfume bottles, costumes (lol), head scarves (egypt is a great place to buy scarves of all sorts), silver cartouche, hamsa (one silver, one gold), necklace with my name in arabic, assorted stuff of all sorts!!! I even brought back a bed cover on this last trip . . . cotton and made in egypt (NOT china).
Oh, and you can't drag me back to The Pharonic Village for anything . . . I noticed the egyptian "ancient egyptians" acting strange when they thought no one was looking, lol. Although the best part was the boat ride on the Nile that included lunch . . . my first "cruise" on the Nile in 2004, hehe. I did not have my photo taken as an ancient egyptian as one of my friends did . . . too corny, sorry.

Lol that's what I don't have either. I did bring a camel back home few years ago from a vacation in Hurghada. Hold on I didn't purchase a real one so don't worry! I bought it at the airport before returning to Germany. To tell you the truth it was a little uncomfortable in the airplane because we shared seats!! But he's very colorful, about 80 cm tall and enjoys standing next to our entertainment center in the living-room. All what I have to do is to free him from dust once in a while and sometimes I even talk to him!!

in my kitchen i have jars of sahlab mix, herbal remedies for cleaning you out, all kinds of spices i dont use anymore and bags of hibiscus flowers, apple tobacco and coals.
in my living room i have 2 tabla drums, an assaya (dancing cane), zills hanging from a chandelier, an old islamic eye thing, a rug with some ancient egyptian people on it, and a prayer rug hanging on the wall, and beaded curtains between the kitchen and living room.
in my bedroom i have just a bunch of perfume bottles and insence stuff from egypt. i still even have some of my ex old clothes in the closet...ew.
in the attic is piles of arabic videotapes and flip flops from when his brother lived up there.
in my bathroom cabinet is a small box with a container of something called, 'kings cream' with arabic writing on it and a picture of what looks like the dancer hayatem on the outside. its a cream the man puts underneath his weener that makes him more viable in bed. lol, it was his and i got no clue where the hell he got it.

I took alot of photos in black and white- and framed them as a wall decoration. I have a large brown/gold pillow seat, a bust of queen NEFETTI, on my bookshelf, i have candle holders made out of alabaster, hand made pillows from my mother in law, ( I guess I can include them- she was egyptian) and a copper plate with a muslim prayer on it, glass perfume bottles on my dresser. My husband brought me 20 boxes of my favorite ginger tea, covers one entire shelf in my kitchen cupboard. I might have around 30 scrafs I just love them all. I have been to egypt 3 times now- and I always find something to bring back to add to my home.
