it probably depends where you are Gail, Shukr are good but not cheap, on average about £10 each. Also I think the thing with hijabs is you need to feel the material, otherwise it may not sit properly, be too see through or too heavy etc.
I am always buying hijabs, in the UK I wouldn't want to pay more than £5, I bought some lovely ones in Egypt for only £2, very thin cotton or viscose.
My advice would be to try and find a shop first, are you in the UK or USA, I see lots of online places for the USA, let me know which country you are in and i will send you all my links, because i'm a fashion freak

Thanks for the advice. I am in the US. I would like to find cotton or cotton blend if possible. Which style do you think is best?

this should start you off, canadian muslima also has a video to show you how to wear it (although i havent watched it) and utube can give you some ideas. Also try searching under 'cotton scarf' rather than 'hijab' and you may find more
