During my last visit to Cairo in Feb, one of my friends was my local guide. He showed me how he makes fun of those Danish, Canadian, Lebanese, British girls etc..... His mobile phone's message tone never stopped along our tour... In our spare times he showed me the texts the girls sent him and the replies he sent. As far as I understand from the messages, the girls were really in love with him. And considering the messages he sent, he made them to feel that he s really in love with all of them at the same time
I accept that he s a real proffessional on this subject and he is one of those older ones around 35.
When I asked the reason for that, he said ''I know this is not good but that's what they want. I enjoy this but I will never get married to a foreigner unless she chooses Islam''
And I know that, after every affair he did with toursit women, next morning he goes to the mosque and ask for forgiveness That s a typical example for a man who works for tourism in Egypt, they cannot prevent themselves to do these kind of things but always have the love of Islam in their heart which makes them to feel guilty in front of Allah.
As my friend is an handsome, nice and wise man he is the one who chooses, not the chosen. The good side of him is he is not married. There are also other married ones
The sad thing is I knew really decent men but as the time passes, most of them couldnt resist the attractions and insistences of tourist girls/women and unfortunately they cheated their wives. I m not blaming them. I think this is the rule of the game in Egypt for tourism proffessionals now.
Yes there are male tour guides in every part of the world. But the difference is, the Egyptian ones travel with the group along the tour which means minimum 6-8 days and they are with the tourists for 24 hours. We talked this subject a lot with them. They say ‘’what can you do as a man, if each time a woman in the group looking directly into your eyes with an inviting way? You resist for sometime but then you can not ‘’
Because of that way of life, most of them are unhappy at their home I m sure there are exceptions but this is the general scene I observed.

Isn't it a shame that those poor guys really just want to be good practicing Muslims with a nice Muslim wife and a happy family, but unfortunately those tourist girls just won't leave them alone?! And we all know men are sooo weak and have no control at all, so it's not really their fault that they are cheating on their wifes and abusing the feelings of those girls.

Yes Dalia, that's what I tried to show. They have two faces. I m really sorry for those who falls in love with ones who work for tourism. I m telling again THERE ARE GOOD ONES AS WELL.

Okay, let me give a very simple example: I'm visiting a supermarket with my two children, 3 and 5 years old. Passing the candy-department, we see that somebody opened a bag of candy, and the candy lies scattered in the rack, on the floor, everywhere. The children notice: Candy, free to get!!! Then, as a mother, I have the choice: I can allow them to take a few, because the shop can't sell them anymore anyway, or I can forbid them to take a few, because the candy belongs to the shopowner, and when we should like to eat candy, i have to pay for it first... You have no idea how many mother are allowing their children to eat from it...

Where is the responsibility on the part of the women? Many women throw themselves at these men, the men are rarely short of offers, so how do you expect them to treat them any differently?

No, it's not right to laugh, you are right, but maybe sh'e laughing because of the women on here that insist they know better.
Shitty men do laugh at women they use, they do everywhere, because they think it makes them a 'stud'. The day that women stop giving them the opportunitiy to use them is the day that I will expect some change in men's behaviour.

I have the same thoughts, only Mrs can write them down better . I am not going to defend the Egyptian tourist guides but they are not any different than ski instructors, snowboardinstructors, wave board instructors, surfing instructors etc. in other countries. They are young and want some fun. The difference is perhaps the Egyptians are better in the sweet-talk.. and actually do make the ladies/girls feel good about themselves.

100% agree Mrs it is all about respect.
Women have got to take responsibility for their actions.
A woman has to understand that she is never going to earn any respect by meeting a tour guide and then jumping back on a plane, and taking an ORFI contract on the basis that, Oh I just want time to get to know him...when basiscally what she means is she wants to have sex with him but just won't admit it............ don't lay all the blame at the guys feet when most of it rests with the women.
And yes, there are some good ones but they are very rare because as Shahrazat said most in the end fall by the wayside because its a fact of life men are weak and a sexual encounter for them does not mean the same as it does to a woman.
If any woman does not want to be a joke amoung the tour guides the answer is simple, don't have sex with them. If you think you have found one of the rare good ones then develop the relationship the old fashioned way, take time to get to know them, and yes you can do it without having sex.
It IS the only way to get RESPECT.

I understand what you're saying, Mrs., but for me the main point is the hypocrisy and self-righeousness involved.
I also know guys who sleep around a lot, and personally I don't condone this, but it's their life and their choice. But the difference is that they don't pretend at the same time to be all pious and just victims etc. They are upfront and don't tell the girls that they are in love, they don't make empty promises etc.
That's the part that disgusts me -- those guys really believe they are being "good guys" and that it's the women's fault. They lie and cheat, yet claim they are somehow the victims. Sorry, but imo that's BS. I live in Cairo, and I could take a different guy home every weekend if I wished to do so, it would be very easy. So if I did that and then came on here crying wolf that I feel bad about fornicating and need to go and pray and ask for repentance every time I have sex, would I get sympathy for trying to be a good person? If I claimed I just can't help it, the option is there, men are just so easily available in Egypt, would people blame the guys who are hitting on me? Or would they rather label me a slut and tell me I'm responsible for my own actions? Would I be excused just like some of you are excusing those guys? My guess would be no. And that's because some of you (and I'm not referring to anyone here in particular, so no offence) still have double standards regarding the behaviour of men and women.

What a shame an egyptian should accept as the norm low life behaviour like that. All over the world men are using women and women using men. Surely when it comes to just being given 'the gift of the gab' its only a matter of time before these women cotton on to their lies. Relationships are more than just chat and texts. But these men are not having relationships they are just having flings, and gaining a means to an ends - MONEY SEX.

As a woman, I m really tired to see that all women would like to show the other women as innocents and victims.... But the contradiction is, in bussinesslife a woman cannot be damaged by anybody else except by a woman collegue. When I think about my tours with groups, the most problematic ones were always women, the ones who would like to make me crazy, the ones who criticize me... The reason is obvious, they are jeaolous..
I love Joan Collins saying ' I stripp for men but dress for women'' I think this expresses the real 'woman to woman' feelings very well.
A woman has to be a real fool to not to understand that he is a real playboy. And women are clever enough and they know that they believe what they wanna believe.
Honestly, I was waiting for the posts like imagine's and kitty's.... And the people who I know that they will understand what I meant 'in fact' understand what I mean.
Sorry I really like him as a friend as he was always as a real friend during my hard times in Egypt.
You know, there are women that come on here, visit Egypt or anywhere, they're not talking about how big their boobs are to vader every five seconds, and there are those that do. The ones that do these things are the ones that give western women the bad name, so people should criticise them more IMO.

I love Joan Collins saying ' I stripp for men but dress for women'' I think this expresses the real 'woman to woman' feelings very well.

Honestly, I was waiting for the posts like imagine's and kitty's.... And the people who I know that they will understand what I meant 'in fact' understand what I mean.
Sorry I really like him as a friend as he was always as a real friend during my hard times in Egypt.

i agree there is two sides to every story, and the women sending money to their egyptian lover is equally as stupid (if she really thinks its the great love), as he is a prostitute selling his ass for the rent.. then again if they are both in on the game and no emotions are attached then we are just talking about a simple business transaction..

I know the son of diplomat whose son chose to join the tourist industry because he enjoys the work. He is very decent and a good friend of mine. I have seen woman throw themselves at him as he is beautiful but all he wants is to wait until he finds a nice virgin bride.
