http://www.archaeology.org/interactive/hierakonpolis/ An interesting site that tells about the excations made on the remains of Nekhen(Heirakonpolis) the 'City of the Hawk' one of the earliest city-states of Egypt and founder states of united Egypt! The earliest writings were discovered here.
Some of you, no doubt, already know about this site but for those who haven't, it's very informing.
Some of the evidence uncovered shows about the important trade and economic ties predynastic Egypt had with 'Nubia' to the south, specifically the A-group people of Ta-Seti. It tells about early elite people in society as well as some of the customs the people practiced.
