Is there any cultural links (not military) between ancient Egypt and ancient Middle east (Sumerian)?

I'm a real ignorent, but i don't think there were any cultural links between Sumer and Ancient Egypt.

They may have traded with each other, but you're right, other than being black people living in subtropical desert regions, the Sumerians and Egyptians didn't have a lot in common.
