When the Taliban destroyed the gigantic Buddha statute despite massive international pleas to refrain from such dastardly act, I began to wonder whether Kemet's monuments are under a similar threat, especially with the Muslim Brotherhood becoming more fanatical than ever. It would be interesting to see how the international community reacts to such an attempt to destroy Egyptian/African/World history. I hope it's nothing like Nasser's Aswan-High-Dam type of reaction.

The biggest threat to ancient Egyptian monuments is not so much a human element as a natural element. The rising water tables of the Nile will eventually erode and destroy the temples. The Valley of the Kings and other monuments are on the UNESCO list of endangered monuments.
