Good question, because the Kushites were said to be very tall and black in complexion, those people in that video don't fit that image. They speak Arabic, they seem to practice some type of Indian or Arabic ceremony so I would assume those people are NOT the original Kushites, Meroites, or Nubian.

hi there where u get that from this is simialr to where and how we have our weddings ,,we originate from india and emigrated to africa and the middle east and intergrated thats probably why you got such a mixed wedding of arab and indian ,,we just had a wedding simialr to this my neice got married but more indian but with the african drums and the whirling and crying out ,,my family are of indian arab black my ma was of black mixed and the rest of indian so its a funny mixture but exciting too ...salaams

Actually, the wedding ceremony is not Indian or Arabic in origin but unique to the modern day Nubian groups. Also alot of the modern Nubian groups still speak their original language no matter how mixed with Arabs they might be. Many of the modern Nubians also have similar customs retained from pre-Islamic times. You should read the book entitled Nubian Ceremonial Life by Joseph Kennedy.
People of the Nile Valley have been heavily mixed but still retain their customs from pre-Islamic times.

I agree with Ausar, it seems that they retain their African culture, and as Yonis said it is probably a Nilo Saharan culture...please note that they prepare injera like in Ethiopia and look like Amhara even if they are not related...anyway Amhara and other Nilo-Saharan groups are neighbours. GambA.

Ethiopians are so mixed:Cushitic speaker people...Nilo-Saharan...Semitic speakers and even Italian and Arab blood that it's foolish to define a typical Ethiopian for even an Amhara or a Tigre. Somali or Afars have physical features that are easier to identify...it's more complicate for Ethiopians...
Yom, Meskel, Mengistu=Amhara...as Yom said, it's a loose definition...like being Arab is a lose definition, they(Arabs) come in different colors and shape...Check in Sudan or Yemen.
