Don't worry about who I am, worry about my moderating.
Did Myra decline the offer to moderate? She would make a good co-moderator (very polite and a strong contributor).

I agree, Myra would make a good moderator.
I don't like your answer to Djehuti though. He's not asking your name in real life or anything personal like that.
He wants to know who you are in relation to this board. How did you come to be a Mod? Have you gone by any other names? What is your interest in the topic?
Those are important questions and also a Mod should be ready to communicate with members which means explaining every banning and thread closing (especially deleting as I notice some threads have disappeared without warning that were not spam). Responding to PMs with legit questions is also important. Some members don't seem to like responding to PMs which is not a good quality for a moderator who is supposed to be regulating a forum.

I'll say this. I've been a member of this forum for a good while and I hope to restore it to its past high level of debate and discussion. I respond to PMs and I'm interested in Egypt as an avid amateur in Ancient and especially African history. I did have other names in the past, but I will not reveal them to prevent assessment of my moderating abilities being coloured by opinions of my non-moderating related views.
(Mystery Solver, please allow PMs so that I may communicate with you privately)

So Henu is someone we know. Could it be 'multisphinx' or 'Thought' or perhaps Charles...
Anyway, I voted for X_ras since I think Mansa Musa would be too lenient while Takruri would be too strict. So I chose who I think is the more moderate.

I would assemble a team of a total of three moderators and could be no stricter than what a vote between the three of us by majority decision agree on.

I chose Mansa because he seems like he would moderate totally unbiased and maybe not so strict...I was deciding between him and al-T. I wasn't sure how much al really wanted to moderate, and that's how I made my decision.

Isn't X-Ras Charles? I'm pretty sure that he is.
This democratic format is a great way to choose a Mod. I'll say this though. I have quite a reputation on MSF for tough moderation as I am far less tolerant of racial abuse than any other Mod to the point where some of the Mods regard me as a policemen.
But I also try to listen to the members and be as fair as possible. One of the things I have disliked about Henu's moderation is that threads have been deleted without warning. Not even closed just deleted. That is understandabe for a hit and run troll job or someone spamming the board like that idiot ABAZA, but you kill people's post counts and some potentially decent discussion when you do that.
With me in moderation you would see alot less thread deletions (closed thread may even be reopened if they prove to be valuable), a crackdown on racist abuse and more willingness to listen to members about moderating concerns as this is every member's forum and it should be moderated as fair as possible.
I'll also say that I respect X-Ras and Al-Takuri, they both know a bit more about Ancient Egypt than I do. When it comes to moderating the board I think the best candidate is going to be the one who knows how to deal well with people.

Please PM me if you wish to discuss my actions as moderator. If people want to reopen threads, they are free to PM me, and I will reopen them if they wish to continue the discussion and the cause of the closure has ended. The only threads I closed, however, were a farewell thread that had gone off-track and a spree of threads created by al-Takruri to indicate his dissatisfaction with all the racial questions on this board. The only deletions were the two of those threads created by al-Takruri that had no replies and no chance for discussion. Remember, this database has a limited amount of space. Every time a thread like that is made, another thread in the archives vanishes into oblivion. They weren't threads with potential for discussion. This board wasn't made for post counts but for debate and discussion.

Now that I think about it there was someone in moderation before you that I may be thinking of. I keep thinking you simply had a name change but that does not seem to be the case.
What was his name? Horus? There were alot of thread deletions when he was moderating.

Mansa, moderators don't always have the time to clean up topics and leaving them closed but with all it's vulgar content in it has also resulted in complaints, lose/lose situation i know but that's the reality of the situation when RL eats up all your time
Henu and the three contenders good luck, wish you the best!

The polls are closed. X-ras is our new moderator. X-ras, would you still like to moderate? If X-ras does not chose to moderate then Mansa_Musa gets the position since he came in second.
X-ras, do you still wish to moderate?
In conclusion I have wasted enough of my life on this forum. My real life matters to me much more.

X-ras has probably voted for himself with his multiple nicks, i think we should re-vote, but this time through posts and not the anonymous poll, then count them, this will be much more fair. I bet if the admin posts the names of those who voted you'll see atleast half a dussin non-active members that put vote on x-ras. i suggest for another vote but through posts instead.

You should have specified a deadline ausar, imo the poll shouldn't be closed yet since obviously the game ain't over. Put a deadline instead so everyone knows, i suggest one more day.

I would prefer both alTakruri and Mansa-musa over x-ras. I don't think it suits him being a moderator he's to emotional as i've observed from other forums.

Favoritism at play??
He's bringing uncessary beef from other forums into this one but as I've told him already, whatever goes on in other forums has nothing to do with this one. He just can't let it go. How many times in this forum have I made any reference to Yonis' actions in other forums? Thats the difference right there. I'm not going to explain what goes on in other forums as far as me, just know when you post in racialist forums where most of the posts are anti-black, there will be a reaction. This isn't that kind of a forum here so why Yonis is bringing it up is pointless.

Unnecessary beef? I'd say your actions at other forums are pretty telling, PRMoor543. Besides, you'd probably ban all gay or gay rights-supporting members.

This is what I mean, posters from other forums brginging their personal beefs and accusations to this forum, whats the problem with keeping it there? The way you and Yonis are acting show that if anything, you two shouldn't be moderators.

So bringing up dubious behavior by a potential moderator makes us (who aren't running for moderation in the first place) unfit to be mods? Please.
Be honest, would you use your moderating powers against gay and/or gay rights-supporting posters if you were a moderator? Or are your multiple personalities completely distinct from one another S.Mohammed/Charlie Bass/Mackandal/PRMoor543/Kostas Vardalos/Betrand Rigaud/etc., etc.
I believe that you do want to clean up the forum, but at what cost? Which of your other personalities will seep through?

Why are you asking? Are you gay? You support gays? Whats ddoes gay rights have to do with this forum? Whatever my personal views are about gays has nothing to do with moderating this forum. This place isn't about discussing those types of issues. If I do become mod, my intent is to restore this forum to what it used to be years ago when I first starte posting here, not to use it as a tool against gays and those who support them. If you wanna address me do so in PM, not here. Its totally pointless to talk here.

You forgot his other alter egos "Decadence" and "Tate". This guy has more personalities than a schizophrenic patient.
He also hates Muslims and Jews, he calls muslims "mudslums".

Watch it with the comments, guys. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. If you have complaints, then bring it up, but without insulting.
@ausar: Has it been decided that X-Ras is the next moderator, or is it still up for debate? When you said it was over, the vote was X-Ras 9, alTakruri 7, Mansa Musa 8. Now, it's 11-8-11 (respectively).

With the way this forum is going and how much it has changed over the years to what it has deteriorated to, I see nothing to moderate. I'd rather let it die a slow death than quickening it by being a moderator in a forum where trolls and haters constantly attack you, though they fail to realize they are the problem in this forum themselves.

Hmmm. Not exactly the wisdom of Solomon when the two whores demanded judgement over the one baby.
Having moderated 5 forums since 1999, trust me, if you can't take the constant criticism of a forum's membership you'll never attain your aspirations for the forum.
I know for a fact you're of better metal than that. Hang in there. Your redemptive work is yet to begin! Have the faith in yourself that those who voted for you have.

Nope, i pass and I'm quiting these race forums for good. Its too damn annoying when the same idiots follow you from forum to forum bringing up the same beefs and nonsense, it makes posting no more fun. I'm also sick and tired of debating the same damn topics over and over again in these race forums. Though the truth is out there and obvious to see, racialists and trolls will continue to inflame discussions. These race forums aren't my life and they're no more fun, look at what this place has become. Even the most tenured posters here with knowledge have become bonafide trolls and baiters.

Lol a recount is being demanded. It does sound fair to make the voting public so we know who voted for who and that no inactive accounts were involved.
But obviously people are not going to make new posts in time to meet Ausar's deadline.
Btw, why are people attacking X-Ras so harshly? He has been one of the most informative posters in the history of this board. (as Charles Riguad/Bass etc.). I thought that was widely known.

Why don't you leave? No one holds you back.
Since I have joined this site, your mission has been to ruin this place. If you did not noticed yet, it is you who deteriorated this place by your endless fake "concerns".
So stop posting about "trolls" and "change", and be a man and leave this place--which you said you wanted to do for the last 12 months.

This place is used by real scholars, and this is how I found this place.
I'd not name it where I found this forum, but I can assure you, there are people who read this forum and use the informations posted here.
So do us a favour and leave

Since you refuse to shut your mouths, you, Yom and Yonis, it is I who will be on the attack you trouble maker. Step in the Arena when ready.
