Most modern Southern Arabians are distinct from their Northern Arabian counterparts. According to the origins of the Arabs themselves they class themselves into Qahtani and Adnan Arabs. Qahtani is the original Arab and Adnan are arabized Arabs. Other groups like the Mahra of Yemen and others represent the older ethnic groups in Arabia.
