^ Interesting. I wonder if the jackal was the early totem of royalty then. The hawk was the totem used for Nekhen from early dynastic times onward. I am also interested in the connections predynastic Neken had with the Western Desert.

However, one of the things about this page is the arbitrary claims like the following:

Such a quote is blatantly ridiculous considering that people in Africa have been carrying such sticks and maces for many thousands of years and for many different reasons including cultural, political and defensive. This makes looking outside the Nile Valley region for the origins of such a mace an example of trying to find anything that can be used to tie Egypt with Mesopotamia.
On the other hand I do like the site for the images of the people of Upper Egypt around the site, some of whom remind me of ancient historical Egyptian figures:
The dude on the right reminds me of Mentuhotep I: (The one in the center looks like Mike Epps... lol!)

^ Yes, I am weary of any claims of something in ancient Africa having Asiatic links or origins. Considering that such claims were the norm in Eurocentric scholarship.
