Prominent Egyptian actress Muna Zaki has won an Oscar for Best Female Actress for her role in the film "Abu Ali", which she took part in last year. The award was presented to the actress at the Arab Radio and Television Network (ART) awards ceremony.
Egyptian actor Ahmad Al Sakka was awarded the Oscar for Best Male Actor for his role in the film "Harb Italia" (The Italian War).
On a different note, Muna has finally took the ultimate step and put on the shoes of the late Egyptian diva Soad Husni and is now reliving her life and has begun filming the first scenes of the new television drama that tells the story of the life of Egypt's Cinderella, Soad.
The drama will be one of a kind, being the first gigantic television drama to be produced in such secrecy, without the knowledge of the press until the beginning of shooting the first scenes.
Filming of the scenes will last for a period of three months between Cairo and London, the television channel that will buy the rights to air the drama has not been revealed. It is stated that the only person who may know the name of the channel is the drama's producer Tareq Nour.
Most of the cast for the drama have already been chosen, and will include Midhat Saleh, Tamer Habib, Sami Maghawri, Ghada Rajab, and Sherrie Adel.
The drama, which is scheduled for screening during the holy month of Ramadan, is written by scenarist Atef Bishai and will be directed by Samir Seif.
