Alicia Keys took off to Egypt in a bid to find inspiration after she struggled with "confusing music" as she set about recording her new album.
The Fallin' singer admits she was struggling to find her past form that earned her Grammy Awards and acclaim and decided she needed to take a holiday.
She travelled alone through Egypt, floating down the Nile and visiting ancient sites, like the Great Pyramid of Giza, just outside Cairo.
She says, "I'm thinking, `Here is this structure that's been standing for thousands of years, no magic tricks, no cranes, just mind, will and hands.
"I had a profound realisation that with my mind and my hands I could create something that could last forever."
Fully inspired, Keys returned to the studio last summer (06) and completed work on her upcoming album As I Am, which she states is like "Aretha Franklin singing a Janis Joplin song."
Egypt must have really touched her heart. I can fully understand that.

And no Egypt is not an unusual baby name. Due to Twitter retweets I've seen lately African American ladies and also newborn babies with the first name Egypt.
Honestly I think the name is absolutely awesome.
As to her husband which goes by the stage name Swizz Beatz it's said that his real name is Kasseem Mike Dean, he's Muslim but I also found a link which states he's actually half Jamaican/half Puerto Rican.
Now google Black Muslim movement in America it was and is still hip to declare themselves Muslims and walk around with Arabic names but these people neither live by the original book of the Koran nor mostly read/speak Arabic.
His father is Terrance Dean and he's also openly gay.

How can you be sure this is the same Terrance Dean? Gay Terrance is likely to be killed just as any Apostate or ex-Muslim. Is he a NoI member or 5 percenter?
NoI believe Elijah Muhammad was the last prophet and that the original muslims were all Black and Yacub, a Black scientist, created Whites.
5 Percenters or Nations of Gods & Earths are an offshoot of the NOI they still commit crimes, preach Black Power and are popular in the Hip-Hop community. The men make up some name with 'God' in the title and the women are the 'Earths'. I know this is some batsh!t crazy stuff but this is what they believe in. Swiss is more likely to be a 5% but maybe he gave it up.

it is also so obvious. How about naming the boy Ramses, or Horus, or something a little bit more subtle. I thought there was more too Alicia Keys than this, but she has fallen a lot in my favour after hooking up with this cheating boy and then naming her boy this very unattractive name.

My friend was often asked why she called her son Jordan. She said it was because he was conceived in Egypt and calling him that would have been ridiculous so they went for the closest country plus her hubby was a big Michael Jordan fan.
