I turned my husand onto this, he had never tasted it, and I have a homemade recipe that is REALLY great , like we get at home in the states! If you're interested, it's easy, here it is:
SMUCKERS' BUTTERMILK RANCH DRESSING
1/2 cup milk mixed with 1 tablespoon vinegar 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/4 tsp finely chopped parsley 3 tablespoons onion grated dash salt dash pepper 2 garlic cloves cut in half
Mix milk and vinegar (this is your buttermilk). Add mayonnaise and mix together throughly. Add parsley, onion, salt, pepper and garlic. I put in an empty jar (like old jam jar) and shake very well and refrigerate at least an hour before serving. If you want a thicker consistiency add more mayo until you like its flow. We use ours for dips like tomatoes, cucuumbers, or fried potato strips.....VERY GOOD ! enjoy Posts: 13440 | Registered: Feb 2006

LOL I was wondering if anyone would catch that Funny wasn't it (WARNING TO ALL WHO HARRASS ME, THE PIECE AND THE PC - SIDE BY SIDE-!). no, kidding, I found it online and it made me laugh. Addicted to the net, keep the weapons close, eat healthy.
Laura, I kind of do a mixture, I halve the garlic and then crush it with the side of the knife and throw it in. I find it helps the flavour really come out much more!
