It's a lovely evening with gorgeous weather, simply the type of evening i longed for during the past few months. So I'm chilling and i want a treat, a snack an appetizer. Let me cut to the chase i plan to bake mussels this evening. The recipes for this dish are pretty much identical and consist of: mussels, butter, bread crumbs, parsley, olive oil, grated cheese and a little S&P.
I don't have bread crumbs and i could care less. It is a simple dish and i'll tell you guys how it turns out.
I will bake 1 dozen, 6 mussels with parmesan cheese and 6 w/o - both varieties will of course include grated garlic, butter, parsley, olive oil and S&P.

Indeed, they look delicious. I could eat all of them in 10 minutes. How did you 'bake' them? On a grill? (oven) or on a barbecue?? (you did not mention)

Hey Micky, could you do a thread one day when you get a chance showing how to cook an artichoke properly?

You're funny and hopefully this thread will develop nicely with an array of appetizer recipes. I'll try to do something with taboula sooner rather than later as i also love it

I found this comment extremely funny .
Another appetizer? (very simple)
Cause Exiled is always talking about shrimps and seafood , I made this this evening.
Ingredients; shrimps, pineapple, red pepper, P&S
One is without red pepper and pineapple (for my kid who just likes the shrimps )
Yummmy! I wish i could eat that for breakfast
And DG i baked the mussels in the oven on a baking pizza pan, for about 15 minutes, bake them accordingly though a little less or a little more, until the ingredients turn a golden crisp color.

* 1 pound large mushrooms * 6 tablespoons butter * 3 green onions, minced * 3 to 4 tablespoons minced red bell pepper * 4 ounces crab meat * 1 cup fresh fine bread crumbs * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1/4 teaspoon Cajun or Creole seasoning blend * 1/8 teaspoon pepper * 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
PREPARATION: Wash and trim the end of stems from mushrooms. Pop remaining stem out. Chop stems and set aside. Melt 2 tablespoons butter; brush over mushrooms. Spray a shallow baking dish (about 8-inch square, or one which will fit mushrooms in one layer) with butter-flavored spray or grease with butter.
Melt remaining butter in skillet; add reserved chopped stems, minced green onions and red bell pepper.

Melt remaining butter in skillet; add reserved chopped stems, minced green onions and red bell pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender. Combine cooked ingredients with bread crumbs, crab meat, and seasonings. Fill each mushrooms, piling up. Sprinkle each mushroom with a little Parmesan cheese, if desired. Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes, until hot and mushroom caps are tender. Makes 16 to 20 stuffed mushroom appetizers.
