Saw this recipe on one of the cooking shows. I didn't get the exact quantities, but should be easy to guess at.

Watermelon chunks
Feta cheese cubes
Black Olives
Chopped Parsley
Chopped Mint
Thinly sliced red onions that have been marinaded in Lime juice.

Assemble all and then drizzle with olive oil.

Sounds interesting but not sure yet if I want to try it. What do you think of this recipe?

Sounds quite odd. Feta onions and watermelon?

I’m sure those of you living in Egypt know that Watermelon and Feta (together) is quite popular and this recipe is in fact interesting. I was hesitant to try watermelon and feta, especially when one of my friends invited me over for sahoor, one late evening in Ramadan. I was like ‘crazy Egyptians’ Watermeleon and Feta to go along with a plate of fuul for sahoor!

Watermelon and Feta is delicious [Smile] and everything in this recipe seems cool, well everything expect for the lemon onion marinade. That’s just my opinion though.

Perhaps simply trying out watermelon and feta, initially, for those who are hesitant.

Is Watermelon an Aphrodisiac?

According to scientists, watermelon has ingredients that deliver Viagra-like effects to the body’s blood vessels, and may even increase libido.

Natural, beneficial ingredients in fruits and vegetables are known as phyto-nutrients. In watermelons, these include lycopene, beta carotene and citrulline. Among the benefits of citrulline is the ability to relax blood vessels, much as Viagra does.

When watermelon is consumed, citrulline is converted to arginine. Arginine is an amino acid that has beneficial effects on the heart and circulation system, and maintains a good immune system. Arginine also boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has.

Arginine also helps the urea cycle by removing ammonia and other toxic compounds from your body.
