Hi!

I've been living in egypt for a few years now, and I absolutely love it.

Although one of the problems i'm always encountering, is how to find a lot of the ingredients needed in cooking. Like vanilla essence, I know that it's not sold here due to the alcohol content, but it just doesn't taste the same using the vanilla powder.

I also have a lot of difficulties in finding specific items in sweet recipes (which actually surprises me considering how many sweets are consumed here!)

Does any one have any tips on where i can find some good baking ingredients/equipment? Other than waiting to go back home and bringing it back with me!!!

Hi leprechaun,

what exactly are you looking for?

As for vanilla -- try to get the pods. That is usually the best and freshest way to use vanilla.
