CAIRO: Four people died and 45 were injured when a bus crashed into a gasoline truck.
The South Sinai police said that Hossam Goda, 21, Khairy Hemdan, 25, and Mostafa El Saied, 21 died on site. At press time, the fourth body was yet to be identified.
The accident took place 10 km away from the resort city of Sharm El-Sheikh, on the road leading to El-Tor.
South Sinai Governor Mohamed Hani Metwalli said the government will pay LE 5,000 in compensation to the family of each married victim and LE 1,000 for unmarried ones.
The injured were transferred to Sharm El-Shiekh Hospital.
Does someone have more info what kind of bus was involved in this accident?

Yes, it sounds like a coach bus. I actually think the buses are safer than the suicide microbus (which should be banned IMO), so it is a miracle more weren't hurt or died.
(BTW dollar-wise, that conversion rate is 187.00 for an unmarried and a whopping 934.00 for married payout). Life being cheap here is soooo true. The government could take the money used as paying for all of the people who die in crashes in Egypt daily and impliment it more towards safer roads, stricter traffic laws, keeping dangerous vehicles off of the road and consequences for those who do NOT follow laws. I guess it's easier to throw some piastires at someone than it is to actually ensure safety of your citizens.
