The TV channels are constantly telling us that the whole country is beside itself with excitement over the Royal Wedding. Have to say I have yet to find one person that is particularly interested. It seems to being met with a dose of apathy especially here and the north of England, everyone is just pleased to have another day off One friend has booked a long weekend in the Highlands, no TV available

I have many friends in the UK throwing wedding parties and street parties... some love the Royals and in the words of best friend 'I just wanna see who is on the guest list'.
I am not too fussed tbh... people I have never met or will never meet marrying is not overly interesting and about as banal as reading trashy magazines about popstars getting pregnant!
I am off to a Royal Wedding party myself that day though, I am going as I quite like our heritage and the royals but I am not going to cry silently into a tissue. Well had a nice day at my friends. Watched some of the service and then went outside as it was too nice a day to sit in. Interviewing a crowd member she said that her daughter had come back from Egypt to watch it (anyone here willing to put their hand up?) I did like them driving to Clarence House in the Aston Martin, apparently it has been modified to run on excess wine Can someone explain what that means Apparently Tesco workers were on 2 1/2 times their wages and a day in lieu, not bad! The Aston Martin was lush, I worked in their car plant briefly and it was a beautiful place.
Also, I thought both her wedding dress and evening wear were both stunning. She sure is one pretty girl.
I thought they looked very happy and fair play on him for telling her she looked beautiful Nice young man.
My town is in the News today a lot (I posted it on FB) as there were numerous street parties Nice to know that folk had a day of happiness to watch and hear about in todays climate, nothing wrong with a little escapsim.

Some of the biggest names in US broadcasting, including Barbara Walters, Katie Couric and Diane Sawyer, had decamped to London in an operation comparable in scale to a presidential election. Aided by squads of British analysts, they provided American viewers with advice on such crucial etiquette questions as who will now courtesy to whom as well as the inevitable minute dissections of the wedding dress.
