Tried it from late teen to mid-twenties. Also fasted once per week, along with different abstinence. Not sure which did but it was great.
Did a medical few years back and Cholesterol was BELOW the normal. By then I was eating meat again. Not sure it had a lasting impact. ie not eating meat.
Now I can see why fasting and other abstinences makes one stronger.. . .mentally.
Give it a try.

^Defo, fasting helps a great deal physically or mentally.
I have tried it (too many times to count).
