SAMENVATTING Het thema van de Oktober Kennismaand is ‘kraak de code’. In het kader van deze Kennismaand stuurden 200 scholieren hun eigen DNA-samples op naar het Genographic project (een wereldwijd project dat de migratieroutes van onze verre voorouders in kaart brengt). Want hoe onze voorouders zich precies over dit kikkerlandje verspreid hebben, is nog niet helemaal duidelijk. Morgen wordt het ‘Genoom van Nederland’ feestelijk gepresenteerd in Natuurhistorisch museum Naturalis in Leiden.
“60.000 tot 70.000 jaar geleden kwam de moderne mens alleen voor in Afrika, ergens rond Kenia. Dit was een genetisch vrij homogene populatie die in verschillende golven is uitgewaaierd”, legt Frans van Dam van het Centre for Society and Genomics uit. “Ons land is eigenlijk een plek van samenkomst geweest. De bevolking kwam in twee verschillende golven ons land binnen. Vanuit West en Midden Europa trokken 35.000 jaar geleden jagers/verzamelaars Nederland in. Door het klimaat van de laatste ijstijden werd deze groep naar het zuiden gedreven, ongeveer tot in Spanje. Na de ijstijd hebben de jagers/verzamelaars het land naar het noorden toe opnieuw bevolkt.”

This new research confirms that farmers entered the Netherlands about 5000BC from the Middle East.

Yes, but the farmers who entered the Netherlands encountered a much alrger population of what European anthropologists describe as "hunters and gatherers". Menaing that for the 40,000 years that Europeans were in Europe they achieved practically zero in the human accomplishments they love to boast about: writing, architecture, urbanisation, technology, quantitative thinking, astronomy, etc.
Much of human culture results from the diffusion of ideas and other cultural items. Which is a positive thing--provided it enhances the receiving group under conditions involving free choice and not self-serving violence. This is exactly how Europeans got out of their 40,000 cultural and technological stagnation.
They get out of this embarrasment--as they themselves perceive it--by bringing in under a spurious and artificially cultural/anthropological umbrella of "Caucasianess" to include those groups from whom they received the diffused ideas that set them on the path to what they call "civilisation". That is Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt. And of course, the biggest catch brought under their umbrella is Ancient Greece--the source of what they call "human intellectual enlightenment".

At this point in time I want to know if some of these Africans might have survived untill the 19th century. Would you be so kind to comment on that?
