Many people have commented on the red hair many mummies. As you can see red hair is common for some African people.

This fact is evident in the great post by Ish Gebor. Ish keep up the great work.

This proves that just because a mummy has red hair does not suggest an African origin for that Egyptian.

One of these photos of children has the caption 'red hair sign of malnutrition', if you right click it and go to save. That answers that, I think! Poor brats.

I hardly think Ramesses II was malnourished. The used Henna in later life, as the old men have obviously used Henna to dye their beards. This pracice is comon among E. Africans, Arabs and Afghans.

Afghan example:

 -

Ramesses II, as noted, used henna to dye his hair in later life, however analysis of his sub-dermal roots revealed it to be naturally red in early life, for vestigial natural pigmentation remained, and they can tell these things.
See Balout et al, 1985.

Some S. Egyptian Nubians do appear to have slightly reddish, straight hair, but this is likely due to their admixed Caucasian ancestry. The paterns on her arm appear to be made by henna, however, so it's possible the substance is also being used to redden this girl's hair, that said.

The photos you posted have wooly-frizzy hair. Ancient egyptians mummies are however long straight haired.

Blacks don't have long straight hair. Your photos basically debunk themselves.

Clyde Winters, There is no persuasive evidence of Ramses II being red headed. Many of those children presented in your images are malnourished and some others have used Henna substance to dye their hair red for cosmetic purposes.

Dr. Winters, you seem to make a habit out of trying to cover your bases by assuming questionable things as fact, and then explaining them away. That's pretty biased. You did the same thing with king tut when you automatically assumed that his haplogroup was indeed R1b, based on nothing more than internet lore. This is not helping anything.

The fact is that the hair turns red or blonde, if in fact malnourished. And some others have used Henna substance to dye their hair red for cosmetic purposes.

This is true. Yet other have none of these and it's just natural.

That was the point in case, it can and does appear in Africans. It was shown to these neo nazis, since they aren't aware of this.

Ps. Ramses his his hair in that picture is curly too, not slick stringy straight. Added on to this is the crania, limb portions and etc.

The hair color issue has been discussed to death so many times in this forum!

First of all the natron and other embalming chemicals in mummification have been known to alter both hair texture and color.

Second of all, light color among black African children is not uncommon and is actually quite typical among many peoples in East and northeast Africa. Just as it is among many black aboriginal groups in Eurasia.

Siptah is also correct about crazy Clyde.

This your opinion. R1b originated in Africa so there is nothing wrong with King Tut possessing this y-chromosome.

You are so manipulated by Eurocentric thought you believe the only african y-chromosome is from the lineages E. LOL.
