How about, I've already provided plenty of examples of hairstyles black girls can naturally gets. No one whines when white people put permsin their hair, crimp their hair, or wear it fro textured.
Girl no. 2 does not necessarily have to be using a weave or a perm. Black women can naturally get their hair to look like that. Also, not everyone wears straight hair to look "white" nor are white people the only ones with straight hair. Not every African hairstyle requires hair to be curly looking.
This for example:
Can be prepared straight or curly. It's still African and people can have fun with more European styles when done (this type of do will often provide curls/waves for both Europeans and African people once it's taken out, regardless of hair type. Ex:

Appreciating African-ness doesn't have to be understood only using one hair texture. A common hair texture =/= the only hair texture among blacks either. Europeans and Asians don't have to be held to such a bullshit standard, why should African people? We have original styles that can be worn straight or curly. If Asians or Europeans come up with curly styles they can't make unless artificially or are less common in their populations, they hate themselves? Ridiculous. Many people can have a positive attitude about their natural hair, but think for example straight hair, curls or waves work better with their individualface type. That's true for ALL races.
Inversely, Europeans can want to enjoy more curls and use bantu knots like the ladies above to achieve curls/waves depending on how small the knots are. There are also those who love natural hair, but are poorly educated in how to manage it. Again, it doesn't have to be hatred of how it looks, but this is among one of the top reasons. I'm sure many people can think of hairstyles they adore, but don't know how they'd be able to do it properly or how to manage it.

You also missed my links discussing relaxer sales going down and interest in natural hair is going up. The New York Times will note these sorts of phenomenons, but it doesn't seem to be as big a focus in Rock's documentary. There are several other factors that the reviews seem to say he misses. Things such as again a lack of an education for how to handle natural hair. Or, that older whites still running corporate America that are intolerant of natural hairstyles. Popular black musicians like Akon and India Arie actually discuss both of those factors in their music. He can't interview them? Many salons will also refuse to work with hair that isn't straightened, even black salons (again Akon goes into this too). It's not an issue of preference, but that they have not been educated to style or cut natural hair.
Older blacks have often internalized racism a lot more or are simply aware of these problems such as hiring. So they have placed relaxers in the hairs of their children before they could formulate an educated opinion. The result has many girls forced to continue the practice of relaxing because they don't know how they will handle 2 different textures in their hair and will not look very well trying to pull off what is now being called "the big chop". Even fake "natural" hair, can loose the tightness of the curl, and isn't as easy to do things like lie on as straight hair.
I can only think of 3 reasons more positive trends didn't get a lot of focus:
1. Positive trends in the black community don't make money. Creating hysteria allowed him to go on Oprah, The View and Tyra's show.
2. He's older. Positive trends are formulating among younger black and are working their way up to older ones.
3. He's a black guy. Issues with hair care and the hair industry are things black females are more likely to have better knowledge of.
There are numerous other factors, to why women are doing this other than self hatred. Sure Many black women are ok with their hair. But like I said with tanning, many people for various reasons aren't going out to meet that ideal. Rock's documentary is fine for understanding only a portion of what's going on. Confirming truth represents something like 0.01% of black people, which is a compliment, because i didn't think there was a single black person who could admit the truth. Also when you sign up to that website it also labels you as a Christian/Young Earth Creationist automatically, doesn't mean i agree hold those views.
