EVIDENCE OF BUTTON HOLE CIRCUMCISION IN ANCIENT EGYPT

Button hole circumcision also called double circumcision. Is a painful circumcision procedure where the foreskin is completely cut off and the top remaining cut shaft skin is pulled over a hole is inserted on top and the penis head is pushed through the hole Inorder to create a lower hanging skin at the bottom, after that the initiates are put into isolation because this type of circumcision takes longer to heal, a period of btwn 1 and 3 months is assigned for healing and initiation rituals. Western Anthropologist mistake this type of circumcision for partial circumcision because they think the foreskin remains. But they are wrong because the foreskin is completely cut off. Strangers and all people not belonging to the tribe are barred from attending the ceremony, this has created alot of speculations concerning the procedure .

Although most African tribes practice
normal round cut circumcision.Button hole
circumcision is practiced by African
greatlakes tribes such as; Kalenjin, Maasai
Datooga,Dassanech,Kikuyu,Meru,Tiriki e.t.c
and was also practiced in ancient egypt.
Battle ground Slate Palettes recording
victories of Proto-dynastic egyptians shows
conquered lower pre-dynastic egyptians
practiced this form of circumcision.
Coincidentally most of these tribes have oral
histories of their migration from Ancient
Egypt.

CIRCUMCISION IN ANCIENT EGYPT WAS CARRIED OUT AS A RIGHT OF PASSAGE FROM CHILDHOOD TO ADULTHOOD/WARRIORHOOD

This sets apart African circumcision from semitic type circumcision on infants for religious purposes. Although other few African tribes with possible links to Ancient hebrew migrants in Africa practiced the religious type of circumcision for thousands of years.

While undergoing African circumcision procedures, a boy is required to withstand
the pain without flinching or showing pain
while undergoing circumcision in order
to become a man. If a boy cries he brings
shame to his fathers house. Also Mass
circumcisions (Group circumcisions) more than three usually between 10 and 300, is one major characteristic of
African circumcisions.

Above Tomb of Ank-Ma-Hor. Ancient egypt circumcision. the nude male
at right is surmounted by an inscription
in which he says: sin wnnt r mnx ("Sever,
indeed, thoroughly"). The man kneeling
before him says: iw(.i) r irt r nDm ("I will
proceed carefully"). The glyphs in front of
the kneeling man identify him as a Hm-kA,
mortuary priest. In the inscription he is
telling the man doing the restraining: nDr sw
m rdi dbA.f ("Hold him fast. Do not let him
faint"). The restrainer says: iri.ir Hst.k ("I will
do as you wish').

In the oldest written account, by an Egyptian named Uha, in the 23rd century BCE, he describes a mass circumcision and boasts of his ability to stoically endure the pain: "When I was circumcised, together with one hundred and twenty men ... there was none thereof who hit out, there was none thereof who was hit, and there was none thereof who scratched and there was none thereof who was scratched."

most of Africa is carried out as a right of
passage from childhood to adulthood.
Usually a Mass circumcision of boys of the
same age group. The boys are taught the
characters and responsibilities of a man
in circumcision schools. Later they are
initiated into their age sets.
