Are Jews white?
An interesting discussion has been going on at Ta-Nehisi Coates' blog about whether Jews are white (Caucasian).
As an Ashkenazic Jew myself, I will offer my perspective after the jump, but I also wanted to poll Kossacks to find out the general perceptions here.
I've always identified as white, whenever people have asked. If someone wants to say, "No, you're not white, you're a Heeb, man," my reaction is going to be, "Okay, whatever."
But I've occasionally met fellow Ashkenazi Jews who do not consider themselves white. These people point out correctly that Jews were once considered nonwhite in the United States. Of course, the same was true for many European ethnicities, including Germans and Irish. (There's a book called How Jews Became White Folks, and another called How the Irish Became White.) This has far more to do with social status than with biology, but then that's always been the way race has worked in our society.
The thing is, as an Orthodox Jew, I find the question "Are Jews white?" rather silly. Jews, according to Judaism, are not a race nor a subset of a race. A Jew is traditionally defined as either one who has a Jewish mother, or a non-Jew who converts to Judaism. Thus, ancestry plays a strong role in Jewish identity, but it isn't the whole picture. Wikipedia describes Jews as an ethnoreligious group, a concept largely unknown in the West but not uncommon in other parts of the world.
There are in fact Jews of all races and colors. People of African and Asian descent have converted to Judaism, or have been adopted into Jewish families and raised as Jews. (I personally know several such individuals.) There are a few historical Jewish groups who are clearly nonwhite, most notably Beta Israel (Ethiopian), Bene Israel (Indian), and Kaifeng Jews (Chinese).
Still, those are exceptions. Most Jews in the world are divided into three broad groupings: Ashkenazi, Sephardi, and Mizrahi. Ashkenazim, those with a family history in Eastern and Central Europe, tend to be relatively lighter-complexioned on average than Sephardim and Mizrahim, and since they constitute the majority of Jews in the United States, they have dominated the popular American image of the Jew.
The term Mizrahi (literally "Oriental") is generally applied to Jews with a family history in the Middle East and North Africa. Sephardi is a confusing term. Strictly speaking, it is used to designate Jews with a family history in Spain or Portugal. In the late 1400s, Iberian Jews who refused to convert to Christianity were expelled from the peninsula and settled in various other countries throughout Europe, Asia, North Africa, and even the New World. Because they are so widespread, Sephardi has come to be used as a virtual synonym for "non-Ashkenazi." While this practice is not strictly accurate, it is pervasive in the media.
Some people perceive that Ashkenazim are white but Sephardim and Mizrahim are nonwhite. A while ago, the New York Times ran an article about the debate over Christopher Columbus's ethnic origins. When it came to the hypothesis that Columbus was Jewish or of Jewish descent, it made the following curious remark (this quote isn't in the online version of the article): "Most Jews in Southern Europe at the time were Sephardic Jews of North African descent, but preliminary analysis of Columbus's DNA suggests he was Caucasian."
This statement shows ignorance of the fact that genetic studies suggest a close kinship between Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jews. And I have no idea where the author of this article got the idea that European Sephardim were of "North African descent."
The racial status of Jews ties into the racial status of Arabs and other Middle Eastern groups. Are Arabs white? According to census forms, they are. But in popular imagination, they are often distinguished from whites. Of course many Arabs show evidence of having a mixed racial background. But the same is true of Jews from the same countries. Yemenite Jews often look black or nearly black. Paula Abdul is partly of Syrian Jewish ancestry (the other part is Ashkenazi) and many people have incorrectly identified her as black.
Many anti-Zionists have seized upon the largely discredited Khazar hypothesis, which supposes that most Ashkenazim are descended from European converts, and therefore are more ethnically European than Middle Eastern. There's no question that Jews mixed to some degree with the native populations of the countries in which they settled, and European Jews are no exception, but the evidence suggests that overall Jews are still fundamentally a Middle Eastern people.
Jews and Arabs are in fact closely related, and in Israel, where the Jewish population is about half non-Ashkenazi, it is often hard to tell the two groups apart. Race may be an imprecise scientific concept, but as long as we're going to invoke racial classifications, we might as well try to be a little consistent. And classifying Jews as white but Arabs as nonwhite is the height of absurdity.
In sum, I don't care what race you consider Jews to be, if any, as long as you're consistent and show at least some knowledge and understanding of the complex history and social dynamics of the Jewish people.

World War I broke out in the summer of 1914. Nineteen-hundred and fourteen was the year in which World War One broke out. There are few people here my age who remember that. Now that war was waged on one side by Great Britain, France, and Russia; and on the other side by Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey. What happened?
Within two years Germany had won that war: not alone won it nominally, but won it actually. The German submarines, which were a surprise to the world, had swept all the convoys from the Atlantic Ocean, and Great Britain stood there without ammunition for her soldiers, stood there with one week's food supply facing her -- and after that, starvation.
At that time, the French army had mutinied. They lost 600,000 of the flower of French youth in the defense of Verdun on the Somme. The Russian army was defecting. They were picking up their toys and going home, they didn't want to play war anymore, they didn't like the Czar. And the Italian army had collapsed.
Now Germany -- not a shot had been fired on the German soil. Not an enemy soldier had crossed the border into Germany. And yet, here was Germany offering England peace terms. They offered England a negotiated peace on what the lawyers call a status quo ante basis. That means: “Let's call the war off, and let everything be as it was before the war started.”
Well, England, in the summer of 1916 was considering that. Seriously! They had no choice. It was either accepting this negotiated peace that Germany was magnanimously offering them, or going on with the war and being totally defeated.
While that was going on, the Zionists in Germany, who represented the Zionists from Eastern Europe, went to the British War Cabinet and they said: “Look here. You can yet win this war. You don't have to give up. You don't have to accept the negotiated peace offered to you now by Germany. You can win this war if the United States will come in as your ally.”
The United States was not in the war at that time. We were fresh; we were young; we were rich; we were powerful. They [Zionists] told England: “We will guarantee to bring the United States into the war as your ally, to fight with you on your side, if you will promise us Palestine after you win the war.”
In other words, they made this deal: “We will get the United States into this war as your ally. The price you must pay us is Palestine after you have won the war and defeated Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Turkey.”
Now England had as much right to promise Palestine to anybody, as the United States would have to promise Japan to Ireland for any reason whatsoever. It's absolutely absurd that Great Britain -- that never had any connection or any interest or any right in what is known as Palestine -- should offer it as coin of the realm to pay the Zionists for bringing the United States into the war.
However, they made that promise, in October of 1916. October, nineteen hundred and sixteen. because the newspapers here were controlled by Jews, the bankers were Jews, all the media of mass communications in this country were controlled by Jews, and they were pro-German because their people, in the majority of cases came from Germany, and they wanted to see Germany lick the Czar.
At that time, everything changed, like the traffic light that changes from red to green. Where the newspapers had been all pro-German, where they'd been telling the people of the difficulties that Germany was having fighting Great Britain commercially and in other respects, all of a sudden the Germans were no good. They were villains. They were Huns. They were shooting Red Cross nurses. They were cutting off babies' hands. And they were no good.

Israel’s Anti-Black Program Is the Jewish state becoming Klan country?
I have just one thing to say to Abe Foxman, and all the self-appointed Jewish "leaders" who arrogate to themselves the prerogative of vetting US government officials – when are you going to start vetting Israeli government officials as they whip up racist hysteria and carry out an anti-African pogrom?
I can answer this question for myself, because the answer is: never. It isn’t considered kosher to air the Jewish state’s dirty laundry in public. There is a big problem with this strategy, however: sooner or later the stench gets so bad that one can’t help but smell it.
Of course the precedent for all this is the virulent anti-Arab racism now pervasive in Israeli society, as a recent survey showed. To take just one rather vivid example: the Beitar football team has become a rallying point for swarming ultra-nationalist thugs, who beat up Israeli Arabs and engage in regular provocations against anyone deemed "alien" to the Jewish character of the state. In March of last year hundreds of them went on a rampage at a shopping mall in Jerusalem, beating Arab men, women, and children, and destroying Arab stores. Not a single arrest was made, nor was anybody charged. It’s open season on non-Jews in Israel, and no one should be surprised that blacks are now the target.
It’s the world’s problem? No, it isn’t. The hate that is erupting in the Jewish state is a Jewish problem, one that has yet to be acknowledged, let alone confronted, by Jewish leaders worldwide. I have not heard a single word about this from the so-called "Anti-Defamation League," and its usually vociferous chief honcho, Abe Foxman, who seems to have an opinion about anything and everything, but is strangely silent on the defamation of Africans in Israel. As blacks in Israel find themselves beset by racist mobs, where is the American Jewish Committee, and all the other organizations that were important allies of the early black civil rights movement in this country – where are they now that the Bull Connors and the George Wallaces are Israeli?
How will members of the congressional Black Caucus justify voting for billions in aid to Israel in the face of live news reports of howling Israeli mobs screaming hatred for Africans? Can the country that elected Barack Obama continue to have a "special relationship" with a nation that has turned into the Middle East equivalent of Klan Kountry? I think not.

US to review Israeli weapons orders #InsideIsrael
The White House and State Department were apparently not aware of the number of weapons being transferred to Israel via the Pentagon.
Media reports are emerging this morning saying that the White House has instructed the US military and the Pentagon to hold off on the transfer of Hellfire missiles to Israel that the country ordered during Operation Protective Edge.
White House and State Department officials are apparently reviewing each request for US weapons on an individual basis rather than just allowing bulk orders via military channels only.
The Israeli ambassador to the US, Ron Dermer, is apparently denying this, but media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and Haaretz continue to report it.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the discovery last month that the Israeli army had been securing arms supplies from the Pentagon, without the approval of the White House or State Department, caught them “off guard.”
Since the discovery, the US government has tightened its controls on weapons being exported to the state of Israel. Israeli and American officials seem to be taking this incident as evidence of how little power the White House actually has over the Israeli state and Prime Minister.
Analysts interpret this as a weakening of ties between the two countries, or at least a weakening of America's influence over Israel. Although John Kerry made several trips to Israel during the Israel-Gaza crisis, the US has not been directly involved in the current round of truce negotiations in Cairo as the talks are being mediated by Egypt.
According to the Wall Street Journal, President Obama is said to have had "a particularly combative phone call on Wednesday with Mr. Netanyahu, who they say has pushed the administration aside but wants it to provide Israel with security assurances in exchange for signing onto a long-term deal."

It doesn't matter. If more Americans voted for 2, 3 or more 3rd party candidates, and they all got 5% or more of the vote, then they'd become legitimate candidates and have to be included in the debates, as well as receive Federal campaign contributions. More choices are better than two.
This would serve notice to the Dems/RePubs that the game has changed at that the days of a two party system is over.

McKinney announced in April 2012 that she would run for the 4th congressional district against Hank Johnson on the Green Party ticket. However, in August she failed to qualify for the ballot. Nevertheless, she received 58 write-in votes in the general election

Cynthia Ann McKinney (born March 17, 1955) is an American politician and activist. As a member of the Democratic Party, she served six terms in the United States House of Representatives. In 2008, the Green Party of the United States nominated McKinney for President of the United States. She was the first African-American woman to represent Georgia in the House.
In the 1992 election, McKinney was elected in the newly re-created 11th District, and was re-elected in 1994. When her district was redrawn and renumbered due to the Supreme Court of the United States ruling in Miller v. Johnson, McKinney was easily elected from the new 4th District in the 1996 election, and was re-elected twice without substantive opposition.
McKinney was defeated by Denise Majette in the 2002 Democratic primary. Some people believe she was defeated because of Republican crossover voting in Georgia's open primary election, which permits anyone from any party to vote in any party primary and "usually rewards moderate candidates and penalizes those outside the mainstream." USA Today concluded that
McKinney's loss was a rejection by voters in both parties of her controversial profile, which included support for Arab causes and a suggestion that Bush knew in advance of the Sept. 11 attacks. An inflammatory remark by her father on an Atlanta TV broadcast Monday may have been the final blow. State Rep. Billy McKinney said his daughter's tough fight was because "Jews have bought everybody. After her 2002 loss, McKinney traveled and gave speeches, and served as a Commissioner in The Citizens' Commission on 9-11. On October 26, 2004, she was among 100 Americans and 40 family members of those who were killed on 9/11 who signed the 9/11 Truth Movement statement, calling for new investigations into unexplained aspects of the 9/11 events. McKinney was re-elected to the House in November 2004, following her successor's run for Senate. In Congress, she advocated unsealing records pertaining to the CIA's role in assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and the murder of Tupac Shakur and continued to criticize the Bush Administration over the 9/11 attacks. McKinney Scares Denise Majette Out of House Seat Taken in 2002 Answers Questions About Her Campaign -- in which 9/11 Will Not be Forgotten

April 5, 2004, 1800 PDT (FTW) -- Cynthia McKinney, the lightning rod former five-term representative from Georgia's 4th District, is making a political comeback after being defeated by Republican-turned-Democrat Denise Majette in the 2002 Democratic primary. Majette's win, as documented by records filed by McKinney in an ongoing Georgia court case was secured as an estimated 43,000 Republican voters crossed over to vote (illegally – as alleged by McKinney) as Democrats. As documented by the Washington Post and the Atlanta Journal Constitution, much of the funding for the effort was provided by the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee or AIPAC, which had long opposed McKinney for her criticism of Israeli policy regarding Palestinians in the occupied territories.
On March 29, McKinney announced that she would run for her old seat. The following day Majette, a one-term congresswoman with no legislative record, announced that she would run for the US Senate seat being vacated by Georgia's Zell Miller who is retiring. The local papers and experienced politicians quickly realized that Majette, who must vacate her House seat to do this, had a “zero” probability of winning. It appeared to all that Majette was running from a newly energized McKinney and a 4th District constituency who had some “bones to pick”. In fact, local TV accounts of Majette's press conference showed Majette “losing it” when asked if she was running away from McKinney.
A well-known champion of human and civil rights in the United States and abroad, McKinney shook political Washington in April 2002 when she suggested that the Bush administration knew much more about pre-911 intelligence than it was letting on. She was immediately pounced upon by Republicans and Democrats alike, with many calling her "loony" and "unpatriotic." By the time of the August 2002 primary, Denise Majette – Republican loyalist, supporter of Alan Keyes, and Georgia state judge – had switched parties. She successfully took on McKinney in the Democratic primary with the help of the GOP cross-over votes and large amounts of out-of-state money. Majette eventually won the general election in a district which has never sent a Republican to the House.
Fourth District voters cried foul and challenged the election in court.
On April 9th the Atlanta Jewish Times Posted an article on how the Jewish Community "worked tirelessly to elect Democratic US Rep. Denise Majette to office in 2002."

Answering their concern, Majette told The Jewish Times, “It was not my intention to deceive anyone. I have honored my commitments. I have addressed Jewish concerns.
“Those who supported me will continue to have a voice in the Senate,” she continued. “I hope they will give me the opportunity to serve [there].”

Wow Some Jews are downright lowdown humans man.
Always supported Mrs. McKinney, I try to keep ethnicity out of my posts but how the Jews manipulate and rob people and Buy others to serve there purpose just boggles the mind.
I use to be a supporter of Israel, but since I have learned how Its hold on USA and how brainwashingly, USA gives to this country, and how I posted in a later thread how they mistreat Africans and The Beta Israel, I just don't know.
Im not a hater, nor am I a person that can be bought or be coerced to speak highly of people doing evil. I want to see how Jewish people would do on fair grounds.
How does jews hold so much power over The states??
I also wonder how would Israel do without the weapons and money from America.
There are many good Jewish people, but the things I read just makes me shake my head. Money, The root of all evil is being peddled to people and people compromise there own views to serve mammon.

Hitler picked on the Khazar Jews because that's where the money was, and he was intent on taking that wealth to finance his war. If Jews had been poor, he and everybody else would ignore them as superstitious cultists.
The real question to ask about Khazar Jews, is what kind of people will dedicate their lives to the accumulation of wealth at all costs?
Most or all of us like money, certainly in modern life we all NEED money. Yet we set strict limits on what we will do for money, both privately and socially. This leaves a large area unattended, which the Khazar Jew fills because he sets no such limits.
Ultimately, does the Khazar Jew serve a worthwhile purpose or not? I really don't know, but his attempts at manipulating the politics and actions of others, can only be seen as a very dangerous thing.
BTW, for the hopelessly stupid, you will find no like behavior in writings concerning Hebrews. This love of money is something the Khazar Turks brought with them, it is not a Hebrew thing.
