Maj Toure exits the Libertarian Party in controversy after a failed bid for City Council | Clout
Toure, the Philadelphia founder of Black Guns Matter, was seen as a rising star in the national Libertarian Party. Then he got into some social media beefs while running for a City Council at-large seat.

Clout is betting that most voters in Philadelphia didn’t hear much about Maj Toure, the Libertarian Party candidate in last week’s election for a City Council at-large seat.

It didn’t go well. Toure took less than half of 1% of the more than 1.3 million votes cast by 304,500 Philadelphians for 18 candidates in the race.

Now Toure, 39, has broken up with the Libertarian Party, where he was seen as a rising star, thanks to his Second Amendment advocacy through “Black Guns Matter," a group he founded in 2016.

Born Martin A. Jones in North Philadelphia, Toure was scheduled to be the party’s keynote speaker at its national presidential nomination convention in Texas in May.

That spotlight was revoked Wednesday after a political mess that started on and is still playing out across social media.

Libertarian Party Chairman Nicholas Sarwark said Toure became “more and more controversial” during his Council campaign and finally “devolved into a lot of inappropriate name-calling” with a prospective donor to the party. Still, Sarwark said, he had hoped Toure would remain a Libertarian after joining the party last year.

Daniel Hayes, the Libertarian official who revoked Toure’s invitation, praised his Second Amendment advocacy and donated to his Council campaign. Hayes pointed to tweets from Toure that were seen by some party members as transphobic and anti-immigrant.

“It’s social media silliness,” Hayes said of the furor after Toure was dumped.

Toure has been knocking the Libertarian Party in his Twitter feed. But he declined to discuss the matter with Clout. That’s not the first time he’s dodged our questions.

He granted a brief phone interview about his Council campaign in late September but refused to answer pressing questions like “How old are you?” He was even less forthcoming when we asked about Black Guns Matter.

“I don’t want to talk about that at all,” he said in September, before claiming his cell phone signal was fading and he’d call us back. That never happened.

We had questions about the more than $250,000 he claims to have raised in three years for a “50-state tour” to hold classes “in urban communities on their Second Amendment rights and responsibilities through firearms training and education.” We also wanted to ask about the Black Guns Matter gear — $50 sweatshirts, $40 T-shirts — he sells online.

Toure’s reticence is curious, because he’s no stranger to public speaking.

He testified about gun violence in a Sept. 26 hearing of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee. He addressed the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) in February. And he appeared in the Pennsylvania Capitol rotunda in May for a gun-rights rally hosted by State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, a Butler County Republican and one of the most conservative members of the state legislature.

Black gun rights activist Colion Noir converses with friend Maj Toure, 2016. The video was originally on the National Rifle Association's now defunct website but he reposted on his youtube.
He has a big following on youtube 1.84 million subscribers

The click bait video title here seems to be a joke
"Black People Who Vote Republican Are 'F**ked In The Head"
Maj Toure says in the video "I've been a registered Republican for most of my voting life".
you can see the NRA logo on the lower right of the video

Collins Iyare Idehen Jr.[ (born 1983), better known as Colion Noir, is an American gun rights activist, lawyer, and host of the web series NOIR. He has over 223 million views[4] and over 1.8 million subscribers to his YouTube channel as of March 2021.

In 2013, the National Rifle Association (NRA) recruited him to appear in NRA News videos in subsequent months. Later that year, he appeared at its convention in Houston. Since then, he has become the NRA's "most prominent black commentator," as The Guardian described him in 2017. As of July 2019, Noir is no longer working with the NRA since they changed to a different advertising agency, although he is still a supportive member, he said on The Joe Rogan Experience (#1496).

remember this Oct 2020 killing at a BLM protest in Denver?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTSPdU4DX-M

^^you may not have seen this longer video clip>

TMZ provided footage of the encounter that began with a man wearing a “Black Guns Matter” t-shirt involved in an argument with several other protesters, including a man wearing a camo bucket hat. The confrontation suddenly ended when a gunshot was heard and the man wearing the camo hat went down.
According to TMZ, the man who fired the shot is being identified as a security guard. Some are speculating that he was sprayed with mace by the victim in the camo hat.

The victim, who was later pronounced dead at the hospital, was affiliated with the Patriot’s group. His t-shirt read, “BLM You’re f***ing Right Bikers Lives Matter.”

Jeremiah Elliott also wore his ‘Black Guns Matter’ shirt at a Denver Bernie Sanders rally in February, where Elliott brawled with a white Sanders supporter, who disliked Elliott’s shirt and called Elliott, who is Black, a racist. Elliott, however, countered that “Black people have historically been restricted from firearm ownership” and that he received the shirt at a conceal-carry class.

He apparently is a Black Lives Matter supporter but not a member or part of Antifa or any group and probably didn't know the roots of this Black Guns Matter T-Shirt, that is is a slogan and logo invented by Maj Toure

Ironically Elliot had no gun or weapon at the protest. The shooter was a white security guard working for a news team in reaction to being maced
