Btw don't you feel that an easier explanation for the appearance of 1 or 2 lightskinned people in equatorial Africa might just be a result of the innate diversity and heterogeneity. Like one Dark African + another dark African can give you a Light person if the right genes are passed down. It depends on how pleiotropic said variant is that produces lighter pigmentation in said individual.
A more telling trait imo of southern African influence is the eyes.

No I put her in for contrast. I could be wrong but it seems like the Nigerians who are lighter skinned also have wider faces, broader features, similar to South Africans. Maybe long ago some South Africans migrated there. Chimamanda has a less broad face than the others The 'bantu' in South Africa have some San admixture (and vice versa) The San often have the broad faces and at the same time lighter skin.

Yet at the same time Chimamanda sometimes appears lighter. I don't think it's photoshop. If you look at multiple pictures of Wole Soyinka he can look light, others, notably darker. I think this corresponds to the amount of time they spend in Africa, vs. Europe and the season. It's the amount of tanning. Other Nigerians look quite dark all the time So Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie wasn't even the best example. Skin lightening creme is also used by some women so that is another factor, Nigeria has the world's highest percentage of women using skin lightening agents

Yet she is around 75%. As more AAs take individual admixture test we are not only busting the myth that AAs are highly admixed but that anything light skin is highly admixed...
Edit-Before anyone says its the lighting, she is STILL quite light and many people still associate her look with being due to recent admixture.

Because it is recent admixture. Light skin isn't prevalent in Africa. I know you're going to bring up the Khoi-San, but they're not exactly strong in numbers (excluding those amongst them who are actually mixed, like the Oorlam & Griqua) , and these "red Igbo's" are obviously a tiny minority in an ethnic group that numbers above 30 million people.
"Stereotypical black features" or should I say, West African/West-Central Africa/South East Africa/East Africa/South West Africa/Southern Africa - features are stereotypical because those features are the RULE, not the exception. Sounds like you're just trying to justify your lightskin fetish.

The Khoisan being light skin is a joke to me. You see Africans in other parts of Africa, including West Africa, that are much lighter.

I don't know how your post correlates with my one..?
I'm talking about the myth of any AA having light skin must being HEAVILY admixed[whether recent or not] and you're talking about light skin in Africa.
But since we're talking about Africa there are already studies that state SSA have the largest skin tone diversity. And there are many ethnic groups in Africa besides the Igbos and Khoisan who possess lighter skin tones.
As for your second paragraph knock it off with the projections. And lastly what I mean in "stereotypical" African features are "true Negroid" features which are NOT the rule in places like the Horn, Sudan, Southeast Africa and even parts of West Africa. I know because I been to Africa. It seems like you're the one with the fetish trying to group all Africans into one monolithic phenotype.

^TBH, That girl in your link above isn't astonishingly light, I think we're all confused on the implications of tanning and Genetic diversity. There's a reason why the African Diaspora avg's a range of about 30 on a melanin index... It corresponds to the diversity as well as the immediate result of UV exposure. Someone living in Europe or New England for a decade can be significantly lighter than if they've lived near the equator for their entire lives...period. Lightening in Africans is not always a direct indication of admixture or bleaching.

I don't agree 100 % on the first part of your premise because white have live outside of Europe in various climate zones with different UV ranges from 100-500 years depending on which white group you to choose and the people they live with were or are much darker than them especially when history from these countries had a black population who may not exist in "pure" form,I have no problem with any genetic part,when whites are involved I'm generally cautious.

If you are AA then you would notice that lighter toned AAs in terms of phenotype resemble lighter complexioned Igbos/Cameroonians, Lighter complexioned Akan[Ivory Coast] and Guineans. None of this should be surprising considering AAs are a mix of MANY African groups. Mostly speaking for AAs tho.

TBH, a lot of new world blacks that are light skinned have central/southern African features, broad round faces and somewhat chinky epicanthic-like eyes... I initially thought it was probably admixture from Various Native group or east Asians but there might be a southern Bantu correlation. Like lioness pointed out earlier about possible admixture from south Africans, you can tell by the features where in Africa might be responsible for the phenotype...
The floridian girl posted by BBH is interesting cause she has an Ivorian/Sierra leonian like face in my opinion... She's just light skinned.

I personally disagree. It has nothing to do with Bantus especially those from Southern Africa[they were hardly taken into the slave trade]. To me light skin new world blacks look like Ivory Coast[Akans], Igbos, and Cameroonians.
They too have epicanthic-like eyes and were even noted by the early slave traders to have been quite light compared to surrounding West African groups.
