The Gambia Tourism Board Is Tired Of Middle-Aged UK Women Visiting For Sexual Pleasures From African “Toy” Boys Crystal Gross September 19,
The Gambia community is tired of older European women coming to the nation to satisfy their sexual pleasures.
According to Travel Noire, the African nation became a top destination among UK middle-aged women seeking sexual pleasure from African “toy” boys. Evidently, it has been a “thing” since the 1990s, after international travel agencies from the UK launched cheap package tours to the tiny West African country.
Three decades later, thousands of middle-aged women have visited with sex tourism intentions, causing the Gambia government to speak out on the issue. The country, a former British colony, is currently working to attract “quality” visitors and reverse its reputation as a sex tourism destination.
“What we want is quality tourists. Tourists that come to enjoy the country and the culture, but not tourists that come just for sex”, Abubacarr Camara, the director of the Gambia Tourism Board, said to The Sun UK.
The country has a population of 2.5 million and grapples with high unemployment rates and low wages. So it’s not hard to see why a relationship with a wealthy older Western woman is seen as a financial opportunity for young Gambian men.
The phenomenon has picked up a name for itself, ‘bumsters.’ The term is used to describe impoverished young Gambian men who seek out Western women with whom they can develop a relationship-typically arranged online.
While some use the beaches to locate older women who visit from Holland, Sweden, and Germany, The Sun previously reported that the ‘Senegambia strip,’ situated near the capital city, Banjul, has become a hotspot for British pensioners.
The Gambia government has chosen to focus its attention on Gambia’s wildlife and cultural attractions. The destination has over 300 species of tropical birds and two Unesco World Heritage sites that could boost its ‘quality’ tourism.
Over the summer, the Gambia’s tourist officials traveled to the United Kingdom to meet with British Airways and tour operators to discuss increasing flights between London and Banjul to attract younger and wealthier tourists who would like a higher-class winter holiday.
Tourism is currently the fastest growing sector in the country’s economy and makes up nearly 20 percent of GDP.

After a home DNA test, Christine Jacobsen was shocked to learn that she had [b]lack heritage.
Piecing things together, she concluded her mother had met her birth father at a swingers party.
Jacobsen has connected with her biological family and learned more about her father and heritage.
In 2016, Christine Jacobsen decided to take an at-home DNA test. Both of her parents had immigrated to the US from Denmark, she said, and she was curious about her heritage.
"I expected the results to show that nearly all of me was Danish," Jacobsen, who was 64 at the time of her Ancestry.com test, told Insider. But to her shock, her pie chart estimated that a quarter of her DNA came from West Africa.
Jacobsen said the revelation made her more aware of the white privilege she'd grown up with Jacobsen later identified seven children of Meere's, who would be her half siblings. After being raised as an only child, "it felt otherworldly," she said.
She started writing about her experience "as a form of therapy," she said. Her book, "Dancing Around The Truth," was released in 2020.
"My genealogy has made me look at racism through a new set of eyes," Jacobsen told Insider. "I spent most of my life not paying much attention to the inequality that exists among people of color."
"It prompted me to look more carefully at my white privilege and educate myself better," she said. "I'm still unfinished in terms of finding my identity, but now that I know my truth, my emotions are in a fairly settled place."

Interesting, wouldn't that imply her father is a mulatto? I don't get the connection to sex tourism if her father is a mulatto.
Reading the article is fascinating as Ms. Jacobsen father is irresponsible and her parents are weird,not so much the swinger lifestyle but the lack of discretion in being freaks.

Who said there was a tourism connection? Outside of porno, yte female choosing a blk male remains taboo.
Look at GHOSTS either UK or USA version. The couple doesn't futter. That horror movie INCARNATION? They kiss like parent to child and never shown tearing it up like couples do in most movies.

No problem here. I ain't no thought police. The more varied the respectful non-baiting posted opinions the more robust the thread. Who can learn if not hearing other views presentations and interpretations than what they themselves have to say?
Outside of porno, yte female choosing a blk male remains taboo.
Not so much here. Even if not overly common such couples exist, and in commercials and film they are not too uncommon. Still the percentage of "black" people are much smaller here than in USA.
