I've read an article in this weeks Al-Ahram, that the government are allowing foreign belly dancers to ply there trade once agian. This in my book is good news, Why pay $1000's of dollars for a performance by Egyptians when the russians will do it for about $500 per performance Do you agree with my veiw or disagree with it Do think the local Egyptian perfomers charge to much? And that they should cut there prices, I personally think that they should do there dancing for less and follow the example of there russians.

Bulldog I have to disagree with you.Bellydancing is an Ancient Art.It takes you years of hard work to start calling yourself a Bellydance student. It takes you a lifetime of work and research to be a Bellydancer.Anyone can tie a scarf with coins to the hips and start shaking, but this is not Bellydance.I am sorry, but you can not compare foreigners and Egyptian Bellydancers (I mean, the real good ones, like for instance.Dina or Luci and many others).Do you think anyone could ask Nagwa Fouad or Mona Said for a discount? It would be a sin.But I do not blame you.Unfortunately, there's a lot of so-called " Bellydancers " who give the dance a bad name,so you are led to believe that this is the real thing.
