Can anyone tell me what Arabic for 'Total solar eclipse' is so I can explain to my cousin why on earth I am planning to visit Sallum and the western desert next March!
Thanks.

"Kossoof kolly li-shams"
Kossoof = eclipse (only used for the sun, that of the moon is "kHossoof").
Kolly (or Taam) = total
li = for
Shams = sun
Have fun.
The last solar-eclipse I saw was 5 minutes after I had survived an almost deadly car-accident in Amien-France.
The idiot who caused the accident was looking up the sky while driving.
Be careful on that Sallum road. It's full of maniacs.
