I'll be in the mericure inn (Sgotel)next month. but I need some info on it, Has anyone been there recently. Normally when i stay in Luxor it's the Etap (the outher one) So if there is anyone out there who can give a review on the Egotel it whould be greatfully excepted.

The Sofitel is out near Karnak but the Mercure is at the rear of the Winter Palace (next to Luxor Hotel). It looks good from outside.

Recently I had some guests doing tours with me who stayed there. They were very happy with the hotel but it would be fair to say it is not in the same category as the Etap. I don't know the official stars but would class the Etap as a 4* and the Mericure as a 3*
It is very convient for central Luxor.

Bulldog - we tried to meet once before and missed each other (so close though). I shall be back in Luxor next month and sincerely hope that this time we get together.
