Hi I¨m planning to travel to Egypt, hopefully, this year, to study percussion, first, how easy or hard is it to communicate without the language?
How long to learn basic arabic?
Do you know any percussion teachers or schools I can contact?

Hi Julian,

I do not understand what percussion means! So I cannot help you with this. As for Arabic, you can contact with most people in English if you live in Zamalek, Maadi, Mohandiseen, Dokki, Nasr City , Heliopolis and other parts of Cairo.

It does not take a long time to learn Arabic if you study. If you do not study, you will not be able to say anything. It is not an easy language but it is not a too difficult one.For basic Arabic, it takes about 20 hours to learn the surviving language:
Taxi
Shopping
people in the street etc

I offer private lessons but there are also other very good private tutors and schools in Egypt.

If interested, please contact me directly by e-mail:

EgyptianTeacher2003@yahoo.com

Good luck,
Sami
