my friends alwasy use lonly planets,, so i think they are better than other books, but i amnot sure if they are teh best,, yes there is district called mansuria and also have small river beside it called mansuria,, its in Haram area... as for teh down town,, idont knwo o wmuch big is it comparing what do u mean Big,, but u can get around walking and so many shops,, and sigh seing too with taxi,, exapmle teh muesum,,and the boat ride in nile river,, and if u need budget hotels uc an fidn there too
