I think it might be in Persian, not sure..but it's definitely some sort of arabic.
The word is : "Sarshoor".

It's very important that I figure out what it means, so I'd appreciate any help

I know "sarsoor" means cockroach, but that's not exactly spelt like your word. This one is without an h.
