Still in the process of upgrading ... It was not so easy to delete threads and ban users with the old board software, hopefully this will help with cleaning up the mess :-) There's a new "Report Post" option and a bunch of other features.

Reminds me of that scene from "Men in Black" when he opens up the locker and there are all these fuzzy creature living in there worshiping the watch :-)

Sammy your doing a great job on this forum, but can I request that you post the new rules to not get banned? and if you get banned do you get a warning before that?

The only ones we have banned in the past are people that come in here to do nothing other than be a nuisance and have had a lot of members email in and complain about them.
There were a few that just copy/pasted news articles from other sites with nothing to discuss. We have been contacted in the past by some news organizations to delete posts containing copyright infringements.
From time to time we'll also get someone who started a thread that has totally gotten out of hand and ask us to wipe the thread for them. That's about it really.

But Sammy I know you must be busy, but its just some rules we want to understand so we can "act" up to it in the future. and I hope you can answer some of my questions, wich I am sure other members are curious about:
1. what are the rules for being banned? will you get a warning? will you be banned permanently or fo you get a week or how exactly?
2. what causes to get banned? I mean, where does the line go to get banned??
3. if someone gets banned will the other members know?
4. will you delete posts at the threads without the "author" of the topic knowing or will he/she be notified?
sorry for so many questions, but i think all members are asking the same questions:)

Sammy you know, I swear one year I REALLY got this in my stocking!! My mother warned me for months against being a BRAT, and I was in the BRATTY Stage! Christmas morning, my brother and I are racing out to the tree, we go to the fireplace, there is his stocking STUFFED full is candy and toys, GREAT THINGS, and there is MY stocking with a BIG STICK in it and a piece of coal at the bottom! I cried and cried for hours, even my brother cried for me, 'she didn't get anything!'. My mother sat me on her lap and explained so calmly, 'you see Mija (my daughter), you get out of this life exactly what you deserve, you might not think so, but just WAIT.' In the past several years we have only banned a handful of people and it was because of some pretty severe things .. personal attacks on members, excessive vulgarity, posting pornography etc. We don't have the time to give warnings and I haven't checked yet if this new software will ban someone for a predetermined amount of time. We don't announce if someone gets banned so there's no way for others to know. As for deleting threads, we either try to move them to the appropriate category (if someone started a thread about religion in the visiting forum for example) or we wipe it if we feel it contributes nothing to the forum and just incites tension, chaos, hysteria, mass pandemonium etc.
